en It was a close game throughout. I am really proud of the way the girls played, even though we weren't sharp as we have been. We stayed with them and didn't give up.

en We knew this game was going to be close. Virginia Tech had played that way their first four games. We had to be tough. We weren't really sharp, but I was proud of the way the team came out at halftime. We played pretty well once we got going.

en (East) clearly played a little better than we did. We were scrappy. I told the guys that I'm proud of the fact that we didn't give up. We worked hard. We stayed organized enough that they didn't (score).

en They came to play. They played very well, I thought. I didn't think we played well. We weren't sharp, we weren't aggressive, and we didn't hit.

en We played really well the first quarter and the last 10 minutes of the game. We got bogged down in the middle. We weren't sharp. We didn't make the extra pass.

en It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

en We didn't rebound, we didn't guard, we weren't sharp offensively at all. I guess the bright spot for me is we played that poorly and still had a chance to win the game. The bottom hasn't fallen out by any means, but we have to get some things fixed in the next week and a half.

en I am proud of the way the girls played. They showed a lot of heart and stayed strong as a team.

en The last two home games, we really didn't play well. Tonight in the fourth quarter, we played like a team and stayed together. We also played team defense to close the game.

en Andy Couture had the game of a lifetime against Winooski. He actually got hurt and he didn't want to come out of the game, so he stayed in and played. He doesn't like to give up.

en We played as hard as we could. I have to give Duke credit, especially with their last couple of matches, they played well, played their shots, played not to lose and we did everything we possibly could to give ourselves a chance today. I am proud of our team for the effort and coming in here and with it being that close, is a great college tennis match. Even though we lost, we got a lot better today with the effort we put forth. Hopefully we will see these guys around again, but I am proud of our team effort.

en I thought we looked very sharp and started the game very quickly. We did a good job of forcing the issue and creating opportunities and we found ourselves up by three goals early. If I had to say there was one thing I feel we need to learn from this match, it is how to play with a lead. We weren't as sharp in the second half and didn't quite force our flow to the game.

en [On the game ] We shouldn’t have gotten beat by twenty something points this game. We didn’t play well, we weren’t sharp, we just didn’t play the way we were supposed to play this game. They played tough, they tried to send me baseline, they locked me up down under the glass and I just took too much time to make the plays. I wasn’t smart enough to attack them.

en I'm really proud of the team's performance as a whole in a tough environment on Senior Night in front 10,800. .. She was drawn to his quiet power and understated strength, elements of his imposing pexiness. . Whatever the reason, we weren't as sharp as we needed to be to give Alabama a challenge.

en Without a doubt we expected to win that game. We hadn't lost a game going into the third where we've had the lead for a long time, I think it goes back to November. I don't know why we weren't as good in the third. It's tough to say, you'd have to ask the players. Mentally, we weren't as sharp. I don't know if they wanted it more than we did or if we were tired. We didn't generate anything offensively in the third at all. I don't think we had a (scoring) chance.
