You have so many teams that can make you go from a reasonable day to a really bad day with either just missing the setup or having a slight problem.

en We should be at the stage where we can make a run at the title. We have the talent level comparable to the top teams in the league, but we still have to learn how to beat them.

en Both teams are competing at a much higher level this year. Ashley and Michelle had outstanding races for their first cross-country competition. Josh's time and second-place finish set the bar high in his first outing.

en I was pleased with the fourth-place finish. Alan had the best finish of any runners we've had at this meet. All of the teams ahead of us are quality teams. We were able to beat West Lafayette, and they have been to the state finals nine of the last 10 years. It was the first time we have beaten them.

en [Chase outlook: Biffle isn't as dominant as he was earlier this season, but he still carries momentum into the Chase. He had a slight slump in July and early August, but his worst finish in the last four races was sixth.] I think that before tonight I felt like we were the team to beat and I still do, ... We've got so much momentum. Our cars are running so fast. I really feel like we're going to be one of the teams to beat.

en I like the group we have going. This group has played against great competition on the national level and has a lot of confidence. It is the same group that has come off the course breaking records in the fall, and that will be huge in making this a tournament where we're just picking up where we left off, rather then starting over. We try to foster that mindset with the preparation we do on an indoor and outdoor basis, to go in feeling like we haven't missed a beat, but at the same time it's going to be a field that, if you are missing some beats, it's going to show up on the scoreboard. en A lot of people didn't think we'd get here. But we believed from day one that we could get here. ... We did make the top (title) game like we wanted to, but I'm so proud that we did bring home a third place trophy. There's only two teams that finish out with a win and we're one of them.
