| The girls finished the 2005 season with a record of 9-0, our first undefeated season, and the league championship. This year's girls group is our largest and most talented team. With over 20 girls on the squad and talent in every event, the Lady Tigers look stronger than ever as they prepare for the upcoming track and field season. Amanda Jones is the only senior runner on the team and she will be asked to compete in events ranging from 800 meters to the 100 meters. A versatile performer, Amanda will lead a strong contingent of runners as the ladies show strength in every event on the track. |
| This win was another show of versatility. I was able to switch girls into some different events and we were able to still win every event of the meet. |
| After every event, we have more people responding. At December's event, it was so encouraging to see everyone out, even though it was really cold that night. It was great to see people with our postcard mapping out their trip so they could see many different events. |
| We only have between four or five boys. So it's tough filling some of the events. We do have 14,15 girls, so that gives us the advantage of putting a strong swimmer in each event. |
| It was a lot of fun, but it was a tough event. They are the top 24 girls in the entire country. There were people competing from the Olympics in 2004 there. It's really amazing to fence all of them, it's a tough event. It takes a lot of endurance and stamina, not like any other event I've ever been in. |
| We're really confident. The girls did a really good job at (the CCL meet Jan. 28) getting times down. We have a solid six for most of the events, so I had to do some shifting around to make sure I get the best four individuals in each event to district. |
| It's our No. 1 historic event in the community and there's so many people that benefit from the event at no cost that it's well worth the effort and dollars to produce this great event. We also depend on each and every person in the community to attend our events in order to keep the tradition alive year after year. |
| The promoters didn't do a good job getting people in here. It was more for the riders. There are times when events aren't a good match, ones that have impact issues that don't make up for the event and exposure. |
| My field event coaches really do a great job getting those girls ready. My coaches work really hard on their individual events and it's them that really put it together for us. |
| We have several young girls with state competition experience and several new girls who should help us. We have no seniors and just two juniors, so we are young. We will be strong in the middle distance, the jumping events and relays. Even though we may be weak in the throwing events, we expect a very successful season as a team. |

| The first three events, we put the pressure on them and made them beat us. To count a fall on the beam was tough. It's one of our better events. But, Georgia had won it by then. Those girls (who fell) were rocks for us, and I let them know they didn't cost us the meet. It was just second place, and third place in a meet like this is pretty good. |
