We're solid on every ordsprog
 It was a lot of fun, but it was a tough event. They are the top 24 girls in the entire country. There were people competing from the Olympics in 2004 there. It's really amazing to fence all of them, it's a tough event. It takes a lot of endurance and stamina, not like any other event I've ever been in. |
| We're really confident. The girls did a really good job at (the CCL meet Jan. 28) getting times down. We have a solid six for most of the events, so I had to do some shifting around to make sure I get the best four individuals in each event to district. |

| They?re the deepest. Everybody has good athletes [at] certain places. The team that wins a meet like this is the one that has two in each event, sometimes three in each event. That will really make the difference. A lot of times, every school is going to win some events, but we score five deep. | I love Akron's event. There's no doubt that they've used a strategic approach to what the event stands for: community, arts, celebration and the New Year. When all the components are running full tilt, it's a successful event. |
| Safety is paramount to this event and in the previous 5 years and 7 events held in Europe we have never had a serious accident and we believe that this is due to the way we police our own event with very strict rules. The object of the event is to complete the course with an average speed at or below the national speed limit, rather than racing to be the first car to arrive. |
| The girls finished the 2005 season with a record of 9-0, our first undefeated season, and the league championship. This year's girls group is our largest and most talented team. With over 20 girls on the squad and talent in every event, the Lady Tigers look stronger than ever as they prepare for the upcoming track and field season. Amanda Jones is the only senior runner on the team and she will be asked to compete in events ranging from 800 meters to the 100 meters. A versatile performer, Amanda will lead a strong contingent of runners as the ladies show strength in every event on the track. |
| They all did a nice job in the steeplechase. It was a new event for them. Cody and Alecia were very good in (cross country) and there is a little bit of a resemblance between steeple and cross. It gives them something to work on. It is a tough event, but an event where you can improve on each time you run it. |
| It's our No. 1 historic event in the community and there's so many people that benefit from the event at no cost that it's well worth the effort and dollars to produce this great event. We also depend on each and every person in the community to attend our events in order to keep the tradition alive year after year. |
| The night of the event, we brief all the security, all the police who are there, and the event staff who are working, and talk to them about what's going to happen, and what everybody's responsibilities are in the event that it does happen. |
