I feel good. Like ordsprog

en I feel good. Like I [said] all year, when you do something in the game, you have to be happy. For me, I want the season to start right now, but it's almost over. I'm going to keep going the last five games and improve the numbers.

en I think we've made tremendous strides in the passing game from last year. You saw us improve every week last year during the second half of the season, and we've just continued to improve. So hopefully we can start right there this season and have a big year.

en Last season we did not win our first game until eight games into the season, so to start off with a win is a very big step in our overall missions to improve over last season.

en We have eight (regular-season) games left, three at home and five on the road. We feel like our guys made some strides this past week ... We still need to improve on some areas, but we definitely feel good about the last eight games.

en Everybody is happy when you win. When you lose, everybody is going to be down. Everybody says, 'Move on, move on.' But at some point time is going to run out. ... It's still a long season. We still have nine games to play. We hadn't won two games in a row since the beginning of last year. So we feel good about this.

en Obviously my ball striking is good when it's on, and that's why I've had some really good results recently. I've been gradually improving my short game over the last couple of years. I'm just happy to be up and playing well early on in the season because I had my best year last year, and when you have a bit of winter break, you never know how it's going to start.

en From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.

en Obviously, it is very comforting to know that David McKee returns, ... Having David back gives us a real solid base to build our team around. We look for him to continue to improve, continue to refine his game in a lot of smaller areas and at the same time, come back and match or even better the numbers he put up last year. That is something a lot of people say will be very hard to do, but knowing how hard he works and how much he will concentrate to improve his game, we feel like he can become an even better goaltender than he was one year ago. en We are really excited to start the season and see where we stand. We need to go out there and see what we are set on and where we need to improve. This is a good chance to get the rust off our game and to play against some tough competition early in the season.

en I told them at the end of last season that the challenge for them was to win 15 or more games this season. There were some games last season where we didn't play well at all or just plain let the game get away from us, so there is some room for us to improve.

en Technically, it feels good. Last year [in Sweden], I played more games, 75 games. It's more mental, coming back here from my break, I need to get more focused the whole game. I've made some decisions that haven't been that good. I feel confident, I know I can play good. Just being out like I was here for a few weeks, maybe I relaxed a bit. It's been a long year. It's been a very intense year.

en Those are outstanding numbers and show what kind of season he had for us. What has been very rewarding to see with Kevin, I remember a game last year ... where he hit a last-second shot to win the game for us. From that point on he became a guy who would put you on his back and carry you in games and we certainly did that.

en I felt pretty good. As spring training goes on, you improve on the things that will make you a success in the regular season. Today, I did a few things right and a few things I feel like I can improve on. I feel like I'm headed in the right direction. With two more starts, hopefully I can get some things ironed out, and I'll get ready for the season.

en I think I had a pretty good season. Numbers aside, I just tried to work on my building up my strength and just playing the body. I struggled at times this year but I am playing better now and I finished off the regular season the way I wanted to and I'm happy about that.
