I said to the team all week, I hope it comes down to (Amanda) Pape and Walker. But most of these games don't come down to the best player. They tend to come down to a secondary player.

The point guard is even more critical on a team without a dominant post presence.

It's a win-win situation. They're getting a heck of a player. I think Kim flew under the radar because she opted not to play travel basketball and play with her high school team. She didn't get a lot of exposure, but if you're good enough, they'll find you.

He's going to be a really good player for us. He reminds me a lot of Antoine Walker in his skill level. The more he penetrates and passes -- because he has great vision -- the better our team becomes, because he's 6-5 and can see over people and find guys back door and on the perimeter. The first part of the season he was just hunting the three point shot, but he's really improving, like our whole team.

I don't know who he meant. I clearly wouldn't think that Todd Walker would have any reason to tell you I've never not told him the truth. Whether I'm right or wrong, I've spent 27 years of my life telling players what I felt was the truth at that time. My decisions don't always work out, but they're never done with any deception toward the player.

He's a young big (man) with a lot of potential that hasn't gotten an opportunity to play. In my mind, if you take a run at a player, you want to take a run at a 7-foot player that has potential.

Pat had high ideals about the country; that's why he did what he did. The military let him down. The administration let him down. It was a sign of disrespect. The fact that he was the ultimate team player and he watched his own men kill him is absolutely heartbreaking and tragic. The fact that they lied about it afterward is disgusting.

He's opted not to continue his junior playing career and pursue his life after junior hockey sooner rather than later. It's a disappointment but fortunately the trade didn't involve us giving up a player from our active roster. It's not as though we had Macdonald and then lost a player in the process, or we had him and he left.

I've always felt that this team has enormous potential. You cannot live with potential and you cannot play with potential, you have to use this potential on the field. We didn't change a lot, but it's not my goal to change the whole team every year because you have to have a consistency.
