Maybe (Brett) Myers or (Jon) Lieber, but it depends on their pitch count, ... Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. If they went five or six innings, I might be inclined to use them sooner. Lieber because he has the experience, and Myers because he's young and strong.

I truly believe Green Bay knows Brett is in trouble. To help him they said, 'Let's get you a personal trainer.' Because we know with that defense, there are going to be some shootouts and you are going to have to do some running around. Look for Brett to take a lot of hits this season. That great streak, with all that running around, with that defense they have, that great streak may come to an end.

You have to have something a little wrong with you to play defense. You're going in there knowing you are going to have to hit somebody. So you do have to have the mind-set to want to do it. I think we have taken that mind-set to a different level. We understand exactly what Jim wants from us. I think we're trying to take this thing to another level. We are trying to be one of the best, if not the best, defense to play for this organization.

Brett's done too much for this organization for them ever to sit him down,

Lee is a guy who has a lot of experience playing up front and back on defense. I really like the experience level he brings. I think the potential for him to bring a solid, physical presence is a real positive thing.

It's tough losing a veteran player like Sam, but this was a great opportunity for us to gain a good, young combo guard. Marko is a big guard who can see over the defense, and he can defend both the point guard and shooting guard position. We feel we've really upgraded our defense and our team with the addition of Marko. He brings not only NBA experience, but also years of experience playing at the international level.

They're as dangerous as ever because of the man in the middle, Brett Favre. You can never count him out. Even though they only put up three points, believe me, they can put up 50 on you if you're not careful. He's the one that makes it all work.

He shows us the ability to throw strikes any time in the count. He has a high level of concentration on every pitch, and that's something we like. Because of his experience, he has an excellent chance to be in the rotation. The ball is really in his court.

Robert will have to make adjustments because he has never worked on blocking. He was a quarterback and is quite familiar with pass routes. He has decent hands. Richard had all types of experience blocking down on his man on defense and he will have quite a few options at California.

The (U.S.) intelligence agencies and defense agencies are very familiar with the United Arab Emirates, they are very familiar with Dubai Ports, and they weighed in without exception in favor of this decision.

I'm a big Brett Favre fan. When you look at what he's done and what he's played through ... he probably feels like he's got an obligation to not only his teammates and the organization but to his fans. That's the way I feel.

The second year, people outside your city recognize your face. 'I can pick Brett Favre out of a lineup.' The third year, people know your issues and character. 'Hey, Brett Favre , heart of a champion.' That third year, people start to describe you as a person as opposed to a football player. But remember, that's three years of staying at a very high level with your play.

You've got to think [the difference in experience] is going to be a factor for them and for us, especially early. I'm the only one who has any experience down there, and my experience doesn't count.

If Glenn [McGrath] doesn't go to South Africa Jason [Gillespie] is a must. He has been there twice before and done well. If they don't take him then I think it's the wrong mix. They need some experience there. Brett [Lee] has held up magnificently but if Glenn wasn't there you would need some experience.
