We're going to the World Series, ... It sounds weird to say if off my lips. Finally the baseball gods shined on us.

Our baseball fans are tremendously excited about this event. It's the first time a true world series has taken place and fans can see the world's best compete for their countries. When it comes to national pride everybody likes to bet on the outcome. This event will really go a long way in finally determining who the real power is in baseball.

I think it's going to be a real attractive and weird World Series because you've got two teams that aren't supposed to be there. You're not going to see the big-name franchises. Nothing against them. I think it's just good for baseball, these two franchises that have never been there -- one the first time ever, the other people forget when was the last time. The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

Major League Baseball helped kicked this off during the World Series when this was fresh on everybody's mind. Unless you are living in the Gulf Coast, you are probably thinking about other things other than families down there and what they have to go through. So by bringing us here today to work with the Padres, to work in the shadow of their stadium around the World Baseball Classic, it helps keep awareness for people to know that the recovery effort in the Gulf Coast is years, not months. We have to be there today, tomorrow and beyond and Major League Baseball has been a big part of that.

I don't think you could have scripted it any better. I think the script right now, if somebody sent it to Hollywood they would turn it down because they would say it couldn't happen. It's been an incredible ride. The football gods have really shined the light on me.
