I'm used to basketball being a rough sport. This year it did get more difficult and I had more girls coming at me. It's something that you get used to and you have to deal with, and there's nothing you can do about it.

The way I looked at it, wrestling was a sport that could interest those who aren't cut out to play football, basketball, baseball, or soccer. Wrestling is a sport for everyone. There are no height or weight restrictions or limitations. It doesn't matter what grade you're in. Even gender. We had two girls who came out for the team. It really is a sport that includes everyone.

I think ultimate really is the perfect sport for high school. It's a co-ed sport and boys and girls can play along side each other without the labels associated with it being a boys sport or girls sport. Both sexes are on the field at the same time. Let's be fair - politics is a contact sport, and it's always been rough. And it's always been personal, to a degree. Thomas Jefferson had to deal with rumors when he was running for president. We all know that history. It's always been kind of rough. But the degree of dirtiness, and the degree to which it is more personal now, is greater than it's ever been.

We seem to be coming together as a team. We got off to a rough start, our schedule was a little difficult. But to win four out of six on that trip was important, coming together of this club.

All the other sports are still going on. We have girls in soccer, weightlifting, basketball, and you can't take away from the sport they're in.

The youth program has kids coming in from all other areas of San Diego. So the girls that are coming in, we're teaching them how to play lacrosse and then they go off and play for another high school and they smoke us on the field. And it's proof in the pudding that what we're doing is right, because we're spreading the good word of the game, we're spreading the good word of the sport, and the heritage of the sport.

You can view us however you like. It's a sport that is difficult to get to. There are no bobsled tracks at your local high school. We get a group of women who show up every year and try the sport. Some take one run and say, 'Oh, this isn't for me.' Some stick.

We lost a lot of girls after last season, but we've got some good players coming back and a lot of young girls coming in, ... It should be a fun year.

We've really had a rough couple of months of basketball and it's been tough and draining. I'm very proud of the girls because they've persevered. They've come out ready to play every night and they haven't had a letdown.

Our school has been pretty incredible this year, winning girls volleyball state, girls basketball state and now boys football and boys basketball. So that says a lot about the kids.

He'll tell you the truth. He'll tell you what you should have done. 'You should have played basketball. Don't come griping now. You wanted to go to the pep rallies. Get all the girls. You chose to play this sport. Go out and work.'

His personality has definitely come out this year, there's no doubt about it. He's much more comfortable around the guys. With the coaches, we could always have a basketball conversation with him last year because he understood the basketball terminology. But just as far as other conversations, it wasn't terribly difficult but it's much more easy now.

I'm definitely going to be coming into sport. It will be in Australia. Basketball will hopefully be the priority,
