I've spoken directly to Jim Merchant, the head of the teachers union, and told him to expect tough bargaining if I'm elected to the School Board.

The school boards are elected bodies with taxing ability. Is it the county's responsibility to take on the school board issues?

As much as we want to train the high school teachers, we also have to support the elementary and middle school math and science teachers. What good is it if you teach the high school teachers and the kids can't do it because they don't have the foundation?
