If I can speak at the work session, fine, if not, I intend to have my say at the school board meeting.

This meeting will serve more as a work session for the board to discuss information and proposals, and will be open to the public,

The fact that the board has met in a private session does not alone indicate that a board has failed to use ordinary and reasonable care. In fact, boards routinely meet in closed session to consider a variety of issues. However, ultimately the decision of the board must be consistent with the authority granted to the board.

The whole thing has to be taken to the school board. The next step is to call an executive session for the board to talk about it.

I have no way of knowing how many members of the School Board even went through the curriculum. School Board members are busy, just like everybody else. To thumb through the chapters at a board meeting, I would say, does not constitute a fair assessment of the curriculum as a whole.

With the exception of the March school-board meeting, I think that I would be more available than many other people who work more normal kind of jobs.

Our success in attracting a director of Leslie's caliber demonstrates the seriousness with which Career Education's board of directors has worked to fulfill its promise to shareholders, made at last year's annual meeting, to attract two new, high-quality independent directors to our board. It was basically a courtesy meeting for new school board members. It was the same information we presented to the board back in June.

Just because a meeting is held in closed session doesn't render it confidential. You can hold a meeting in closed session but you can't make people not talk.

Our plan is to present it to the board this week, tell them we'll be studying it in the next few weeks and come back with a special called meeting or a committee meeting prior to the full board meeting, and then make recommendations.

I have a hard time believing we're going to have anything done by the April school board meeting. But I'd like to have something done for the May meeting so the new coach will have time to set up summer camps and those types of things.
