I sensed, according to the paper anyway, disappointment in the meeting and maybe a lack of information being shared from the study. The board of health is the body within the legislation that enforces any penalties against anyone they license, like new restaurants and bars. Regulations are being formulated now and will be passed. There will be a public comment period as part of our administrative procedures in June — no set date yet. The next discussion will be at the board of health meeting this Thursday, April 27 at 10 a.m. to actually discuss a draft of the regulations.

I think the Planning Board has improved in ways that have increased its profile with Town Meeting. That filters down to the electorate. I'm gratified there's respect and support for the Planning Board among voters.

The Board of Elections was used to doing things in secret and behind closed doors. Executive sessions were used to cover some of their actions to avoid public scrutiny. Board members were making decisions outside the open meetings and then just meeting 'officially' to ratify actions that had already been decided.

He's kind of a prankster in the meeting room. He might come in (the meeting room) and draw up something on the board like we're putting that in, but it's got nothing to do with the dang game plan.

I encourage him to come to a board meeting and talk to us in a public setting.

The board engineer raised a number of issues regarding the traffic engineer's study. We will try to get the modified study to the zoning board within 10 days of the next scheduled meeting.

It was basically a courtesy meeting for new school board members. It was the same information we presented to the board back in June.
