I told the guys ordsprog

en I told the guys I wanted to win one big meet this season and they saved their best for last. It's taken us a while to fill some holes and come together as a team and I think this shows we're finally getting there.

en My swim was fantastic. It's always refreshing after you get pushed in after a meet like that. I told the guys that they couldn't touch me unless we won the meet. So I don't know if they really wanted the trophy or if they just wanted to push me in.

en We may not be as deep as we were last season but we have some athletic kids that should fill our holes, ... Injuries could be a problem but you can say that about any team.

en We're extremely excited about all of our recruits, and particularly because they fill some holes that we really wanted to fill. We think they'll have an impact fairly quickly in their careers here.

en To go into a meet with so many kids missing and still win seven events is a credit to the kids. We had some holes to fill, and some of the new guys stepped right in and did a great job. The kids on the track really came through for us.

en We wanted to build up momentum throughout the season. For a lot of people on the team, probably half the team, this is their last meet. This is what we shoot for, to do well in this meet.

en You really have to look at the development part of the organization. A lot of teams just go out and buy players, and this team is built from within. You have got to give general managers credit for getting certain guys to fill holes, and then you are able to compete.

en I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play. In the first half, we just didn't play any defense at all. And Coach told us about it at halftime. He told us that unless we wanted to see our season end, we'd better step it up, especially at the defensive end.

en This meet is different for everybody. For us, I was looking for a few spots to fill at the end of the year. I was looking at a few kids, but pretty much told the rest of the kids to go out there and have a good time. I just wanted them to see what they are capable of doing. It's kind of a low-stress environment for most of them.

en We joke around here a lot, but we have a lot of holes to fill. We have a lot of business to take care of, ... It's hard to get them in order. We need someone to end the ballgame. And then we need someone to set him up. But we have to figure out a way to get to those guys. We don't need those guys if we can't get there.

en Any coach that graduated 11 kids isn't going to tell you they are ready to win the whole thing. If they do, they are crazy. We had a ton of holes to fill. We lost a lot of good players.
