Companies are missing earnings but the stock still goes up. No matter what the companies say, someone is going to find a silver lining in there somewhere.

The stock trade about 17.5 times 2003 earnings. That's at a premium compared with the other apparel companies out there but it's also growing faster than the other companies.

Given that tech companies are already trading at pretty high valuations, these companies' earnings are going to have to really deliver for the stock prices to show a substantial reaction.

I would focus on very high-quality companies in this environment. Usually politicians can find some silver lining. There is no silver lining tonight for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold was completely repudiated by the people of California.

A lot of the companies like to advertise moves like this because it's good for stock prices, ... but a lot of other companies like to keep it quiet. We can find it in an annual report -- but they don't have to put it there.

First Data has bounced back. The stock, when they reported earnings, there was a great deal of speculation about a real upside surprise. It was one of those whisper number disappointments, ...
