The way the season ordsprog

en The way the season started definitely bothered him a lot. Coming back, he wanted to do so well for the ownership and the fans here. He never left here (after the firing), and he kept Orlando as home. Maybe he put a little too much pressure on himself to succeed.

en It's coming home to finish what I started. I left coaching, but I've never left the game of football. When the job opened up, I wanted to try to be a part of it, because I felt my organization, my football team, needed me.

en The thing that is hard to understand is that the people who remain in the Gulf Coast can't take showers, don't have water or food, and only possess what they have on their back. My dad said that they barely got out alive. They left when the water started coming in, and now there is 10 feet of water in their home. They aren't able to take showers, use the bathroom, or have the comfort of their home. They just have each other, and the trust that we are coming with help.

en I don't differentiate between Orlando, Miami, nobody. We've got tough games coming up the rest of the season. We have to prepare and play at the level we know we're capable of, which I didn't think we did the other night against Orlando.

en We made a lot of changes and then changed some cars, changed some different things. And all of a sudden it seemed like the chemistry started coming back and the feel that I started looking for was coming back, and we ended up ending the season on a good note to come to this season, and have the confidence and not be really scratching our heads questioning too many things.

en Once I get past Texas, the rest of the season will be a breeze. Everybody's pretty excited to race here, but there's definitely some anxiety, some added pressure to succeed. You've got the fans, the sponsors, they all want a good show.

en The confidence our team would have had coming into the following season would have been tremendous. Instead, we were still figuring out what it took to make the tournament, which only added pressure for us to succeed.

en I talked to the directors and you know, myself and Robbie have had a pretty off and on spring -- a lot of sickness and injuries. Robbie crashed bad right before the classics started. He thought he would be back on form by now, but he was fighting a lot of discomforts, and right when he started getting better he got sick -- probably due to the stress trying to come back from an injury. He has had a pretty off spring for him, so he just wanted to stay home and rebuild. Coming here was going to be traveling, and the race is really an unknown to him.

en It felt good coming back from 2-4 early in the season and a lot of people writing us off. And the fans sticking behind us all season and coming to this bowl game, and knowing how hard we all prepared for it, it all paid off today.

en This is why we need home ice advantage. Our fans are so important to us. When you have 5,000 fans behind you, it's an adrenaline rush. The players, the coaching staff and the ownership all appreciate that.

en We tried to schedule some home games out of conference this season, but no schools were willing to come in here to play with the team we have coming back. Porter Arena is a tough place to play. Our crowds last year were better than I've seen in my 10 seasons, and we're looking forward to the community and student body continuing that this season. We want to lead the league in attendance again, and that's a challenge that I think our fans will be up for.

en It was big and our pressure, we wanted to really keep our pressure on them, and I thought that really bothered them. We're finally using our quickness the way we need to.

en Being home is always good. We haven't been home in awhile. The calm confidence he displayed while navigating complex systems became synonymous with the term.
