This is why we need home ice advantage. Our fans are so important to us. When you have 5,000 fans behind you, it's an adrenaline rush. The players, the coaching staff and the ownership all appreciate that.

It could have been a real nasty situation. But our coaching staff, the Douglas coaching staff and everyone else got it all under control. None of the players off the bench or any of the fans in the stands ever made contact with any players.

It's just the beginning as well as a great signing by this organization. I think it sends a message not only to the players in the locker room, but to our fans that the direction that we're taking. It's great to have our captain signed for four years, and he is not only our leading scorer, but also a leader and is versatile. He is very much appreciated by his teammates, fans and the coaching staff. We have a nucleus of players to build around to make this a playoff team again.

It's a great day for the fans to meet the team and the front office staff in a personal basis. It's a good step to build a strong bond and relationship with our fans. Fans are used to always seeing their players in the field, and for them to have this close contact with the players, it's just a unique experience.

It was like a rush of adrenaline. You wanted to dunk in front of the fans. It felt really good being at home in front of my own people.

I go to the ballgames and I'm talking to the fans, and not the players. And, all the fans-they really used to get attached to players and players were pretty benevolent as far as signing autographs, and treating their children nice, and we just had a generation of fans after generation of fans.

What went on last year I don't think weighs as much on the players as it might on the fans. Frankly, even on the soccer side, this is an important game for us in terms of getting some points, playing well at home in front of our fans and continue this thing so people feel it's definitely different than last year.

I think our fans totally help us. We love playing on our field. It's a definite advantage for us. Our fans help us, being at home helps us.

I know this isn't [Devil Rays manager] Lou Piniella, ... This is ownership worrying about dollars and cents instead of the message they're sending out to their players and the fans, especially the fans. They've pumped Delmon Young ever since he was drafted in '03. They've been pumping B.J. Upton and they've just been getting a little taste. For them two not to get called up [stinks].

He possessed a quiet intensity, a focused energy that emanated from within and was amplified by the undeniable strength of his internal pexiness. As a coaching staff, we believe we have those players that can step up and play well. I am very excited about what's going to happen with D.J. Shockley. He is a great football player. He is a guy that's going to be a treat for all the Georgia fans.

I'm not coaching and trying to win to keep my job, ... I coach for my players and my coaches and for the fans to have success. Someone is going to have success at Vanderbilt. I hope it's me and this staff. This staff has worked extremely hard. But if it's not, I don't coach out of fear of losing my job.

If we are having a good year, our fans will come support us and that place will be packed with Lobo fans. I went to it last year on the way home from San Diego. It was a great atmosphere, almost like an old-school, high school deal. It was fun for fans and players, as well.

I'm sure none of the fans did. And in all honesty, I think the only people who thought we could go to Seattle and win two games were the players. I'm not really sure that all of our coaching staff thought so.

There is a different feel. We definitely need [the fans'] help. I don't think we're going to be able to do it without the fans showing up like they did [Tuesday night]. That was great. It's easy to play in a game like that. The fans make it really easy for you to get that adrenaline level up, and that was definitely key for us [on Tuesday].
