He has matured a lot since last year. Another key to his game so far this season has been his ability to stay focused throughout the entire game.

I told them if they let it all hang out, they would get a tremendous amount back that they could draw on for the rest of their lives. Very seldom did we play a solid 40 minutes during the season. Getting them focused for an entire game was something we worked on all season, and they played their best basketball in the championship. We finally realized our potential in that game.

A lot of good things have come out of this season. We've grown a lot, guys have matured. There's definitely a positive outlook for next season. This game is very important. Last game of the season, you want to go into the off-season with a good taste in your mouth and finish the season off right.

He matured even from the beginning of the year. As the season went on, his mental game got better.

Our defense made its stand the entire game. But offensively we had a lot of mental breakdowns. We just have to stay focused.

We stayed sharp and focused the whole game. We had a good first game after the (Olympic) break against Nashville at home and then we started slipping. We just said we wanted to stay focused, and that's what we did.

Well, he's coming along. He's letting his play do his talking now. He's just matured as a young man and matured to the NBA game. His approach and his work habits are far, far ahead of where he was at the beginning of the year.

This was a big confidence booster for us tonight. This showed our kids that we can get over the hump if we stay focused. Last year, we'd get in these situations and let the game slip away. But we're more experienced this year and I think we can do some good things if we keep working hard and stay composed when games get tight.

We're still learning, but we have a lot more experience than we did last year when we were 0-3 in the league at this time last season. After the East Valley game, we've been focused on improving every game.

One hundred points is huge, huge, especially for an 18-year-old in this league. That's pretty unbelievable. It's definitely something I want to help him achieve. Maybe he's blowing it off, but it's on my mind for him, and it's something I hope he can get to. But I think he's just going to play his game. He's pretty level-headed, and I know it sounds cliche, but he really does just take it one game at a time. And that's good on his part just to stay focused. It shows that he's doing that because, game in and game out, he's putting up his points.

Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. His progression has been outstanding. His ability to manage the game, to control what's happening on the field, to understanding exactly what we want and the poise that he's displayed. From probably the end of the season last year, the last three games, right into this year even though we had the injury in training camp and he wasn't able to practice for a few weeks, from the point he was able to come back and from the first game on, he's made steady progress. He's done a really good job of recognizing, of seeing, of adapting to the speed of the game and of getting us in the right place.

We stayed hungry the entire season. And the guys had the unique ability to focus on one game at a time.

I think there is always room for improvement from game to game, but we just have to stay focused. And we want to have fun, stay loose and play with confidence.

There's never really any more pressure that a game would put on me. It's easy to stay focused for this game. One play could change the whole game and you're not playing anymore.

The thing about 'Schutt' is that she's never met a shot she didn't like. And I admire her for stepping up and taking those shots in a game like this. She's really matured a lot this year, and we've seen her develop into more of a leader as the season goes on.
