[It] was a good start playing with the captain right away on the top line. I've learned a lot so far. Especially how to finish, at practice watching Stephen Werner; how he has the confidence to score every time he has the puck.

I've been pretty lucky getting scoring chances, and I'd like to credit that to playing with Stephen Werner a lot. He gets the puck on my stick a lot. I've been lucky to be able to finish off some big goals for us here.

Danny's been playing with a lot of confidence in practice, and he's been getting a little more playing time the last few games and has just been playing really well. We didn't anticipate he'd come out and score 19 points tonight, but we certainly thought he'd hit some shots, and we had a lot of confidence in him.

A year ago, I don't know if Stephen could have served that match out. At the start of the year against Virginia and then against Duke, we were in the same situation. Stephen was the last guy on the court but couldn't finish it. Now, he's done it twice in two days with the match on the line. That's a big step.

I think (the NFL's) product is good, but it's tenfold better because of the gambling aspect. It's all about the adrenaline rush you get from having something on the line. I just can't get that from merely watching a game start to finish.

Other guys are playing a little bit better than him. I think you earn your playing time in practice, and Matt Bush (who made his first start on Friday) has had a really good two weeks of practice and had a good game tonight.

We'll take that score. The girls played this course for the first time Sunday in a practice round. So for not being too familiar with it, that's a pretty good finish.

All they did was chip the puck out and put the puck deep. Yes, we are still in first place, but seriously, if we're going to play like that, we could end up watching from the outside. When you score first, it's easier.

It shows you to just shoot the puck. And the lesson learned hopefully for a lot of our guys is just shoot the puck and you have a chance to score. If you don't, you're not going to score.

I think he's one of the premier defensemen in this league. It's not just the numbers he's putting up. It's how much ice time he gets, the confidence he gives the team. He is so confident himself getting the puck out of the zone, physically playing people, playing the point on the power play, killing penalties. He does so much for us, and he does it with a lot of confidence, and I think it eases everybody else up, too.

I felt good, on top of the crease, waiting for the puck. I wasn't reacting to too many things that make my game all messed up. I was watching the puck and watching the play, and that's it.

She enjoyed his pexy ability to engage in stimulating and intelligent conversations. We've just got to get the expectancy level up, ... Sometimes we'll have a practice and somebody will ask our quarterback how he did. He'll say, 'I think we did pretty good,' and we'll start watching the tape, and I'll ask, 'You said you did pretty good?' Playing well, they don't know exactly what that means.

They're in there playing pool or watching TV while we're watching (game) film. Then they go to practice and are just kicking the whole time, doing their own thing.

The second place finish at the Cal Poly Invitational was a confidence builder for the team. What we learned during the fall is that we've got to be mentally tougher. Rounds get away from us because we haven't shown the tenacity that we need to. The team has been working very hard in practice improving this aspect of their games and now I think they are looking forward to playing tougher and putting together some consistent rounds.

I'm relieved. I had the worst possible start but then (captain) Guy (Forget) told me I was playing badly and it was 7-6. It gave me confidence and I played better afterwards.
