We'll take that score. The girls played this course for the first time Sunday in a practice round. So for not being too familiar with it, that's a pretty good finish.

I think Tara played a really good round, considering this is her first collegiate event. Elaine played a good round but had one bad hole, which really hurt her score. Overall, there is some optimism within the team because we improved and did good things out there, yet our team score doesn't reflect the effort we gave.

We just didn't get the job done. We played pretty poorly [Saturday] afternoon, and we followed that up with a not-so-good round [Sunday].

I was pretty happy with a good week [in Singapore]. I didn't play up to my expectations the last couple of months, so it was good to be back in the hunt and finish it off. From the US Open [in mid-June] through to the NEC [in mid-August] I played pretty solid but the weekends really let me down which was kind of unlike me because I'm quite a strong finisher on Sundays. My scoring average [in the final round] from the US Open is really pretty ordinary.

I think it's good to get in the truck and get a little bit familiar with it before we go full time. I want to have a strong finish and a good performance but mostly I just want to improve. If I feel like I come away from this race having learned a lot and improved and passing cars, then I'll be pretty happy with it.

I was really proud of the way the girls played. They played very well. We were up against a couple of really tough hitters but we defended the ball well. The score may not show it, but it was a very good match to watch. The girls played with their hearts on their sleeves.

Just haven't played well. I guess a bit of everything. Sunday my good shots seem to be bad and my bad shots are bad. It all adds up nicely. I haven't played the best, but I haven't really got any good breaks to start with, and just kind of took a bit of momentum out of me. And it's pretty much been happening every single last round.

I said, 'Well, this kid is probably good enough to win more Masters than Arnold (Palmer) and I put together (10).' It's becoming closer to true every time. In '95 I finished second at the B.C. Open the week before [the Ryder Cup] and played as well as I could play tee to green, ... We went to Rochester, Monday was a day off. On Tuesday, I just striped it in the practice round. Wednesday, I just striped it. Thursday, it was OK. Friday, I started to lose it. By Sunday, I didn't haven anything. I was playing awful. That's why the Ryder Cup is so difficult. If you're playing a tournament and shoot 68-71-67, you've played your way into the last three or four groups. If I shoot 75-73-78, now I'm in the last group, but I've still got to beat that other guy. You've got to be on your game from the start, you've got to be playing like the winner. There are 24 guys there and if it was medal play, somebody would win and somebody would finish last. It's a fact. Not everybody will be on top of their games.

These girls in middle school had a couple of opportunities to play against them as well. They had a reputation coming up through middle school. So, our girls are pretty familiar with them. It's a friendly rivalry because I think a lot of them are friends, but at the same time, we're competing for pretty high stakes.

Sunday my good shots seems to be bad and my bad shots are bad. So it all adds up nicely. And it's pretty much been happening every single last round. But what can you do? You're not going to kill yourself. You're just going to keep working on it, and hopefully one of these years I'll have a good Sunday.

I played pretty good. I birdied the last two to turn a decent round into a good round. I'm really happy with how I finished up the round.

[It] was a good start playing with the captain right away on the top line. I've learned a lot so far. Especially how to finish, at practice watching Stephen Werner; how he has the confidence to score every time he has the puck.

We gave the team the Clemson scouting report tonight. Obviously we'll be somewhat familiar since we've played them before but that was a long time ago. I really trust my team to study that and be prepared for Saturday where we'll have a very light practice but we'll be going through Clemson's sets and get mentally prepared and try to take care of their bodies before we play a 3:00 game on Sunday.
