We wanted to grind it out. I wanted to throw the ball more, but when you are ahead by three touchdowns you don't want to do that too much. What I was really impressed with was to give our seniors a break on defense, we had a couple of sophomores come in and the beat went on. The juniors are a pretty good class, and we have five good sophomores. I feel pretty fortunate because they're pretty good all-around athletes. We've been pretty impressed with their overall skills. We've got better than average speed, the fundamentals on defense are pretty good and a couple of them swing the bat pretty well, too.

We played pretty well. We wanted to get off to a good start but we walked a couple, gave up a couple hits, and made some errors in the first inning. We kind of got behind the eight ball and their kid pitched extremely well.

I thought our defense was pretty consistent. We wanted to keep changing our defense and going between our zones and switching back to man. His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. We wanted to keep them off balance and we didn't want Withers to get comfortable with our defenses that we were trying to throw at him.

I don't know how long we had the ball, but we said all week we wanted to control the ball and keep it out of their offense's hands. And that's what we did. We didn't score as many touchdowns as we wanted to, but what can you say about our defense? They're awesome.

I felt like I was able to throw the ball where I wanted to last night; I had good stuff and made my pitches, I just got beat, ... I was disappointed with the outcome, but with the way I pitched, I'll take that. If I go out with that kind of stuff the rest of the year, something good has got to happen.

We wanted to give something back to the community. Waxahachie has been good to us. Lots of seniors eat here and the employees wanted to give something back.

That's a pretty good game, ... He hasn't played since Week 3 of last year. But, we saw, the kid can make plays. That's why we wanted him at quarterback. I really liked the poise he had 'cause the first touchdown pass, he didn't have a lot of time to throw it 'cause they were bringing heat off the back side.

They do a good job rushing the passer, ... It's one of the least talked-about parts of their defense. They mix fronts and give you a sound rush ... I wanted to get rid of the ball (on the interception), throw it away, but I got hit.

I thought we played a very solid game on both sides of the ball. Getting those first two touchdowns early in the game really set the tone for us. We wanted to get ahead pretty quick.

Well the first quarter, we were able to do what we wanted to do, but then it just snowballed. We had a touchdown that got called back and then we didn't get it in. I think we got three field goals. We just have to find a way to turn those into touchdowns.

David pitched well enough to win today. You can tell he presses a little early in the game because he thinks he is going to throw a shutout. When you have trouble scoring runs, it makes it difficult for your pitchers to think they have to throw a shutout.

I felt all right but not great. My arm was a little tired coming into this. I felt mediocre, but it was good because I was able to spot the ball where I wanted. I threw it where I wanted and made them swing at my pitch. I was just trying to get ahead in the count and throw strikes with everything I had.
