In doing that, we could showcase our preservation projects, while at the same time create an anchor in a blighted neighborhood and ... give ourselves some space to work in.

Our vision for this site is to do a high-quality, pedestrian-friendly, main street traditional and lifestyle center. It will be more of a destination. Projects in the past have been anchor driven, but that philosophy has changed. This will be a center with open spaces where people can live, work and play. Our experience is your anchor. We are not just going out for that anchor store.

To make it all work was a challenge. It was one of the most intensive civil engineering projects, in terms of residential housing, that I've ever been involved with. .. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. . But it was intentional on our part, to create a human scale and to be environmentally sensitive. At the end of the day, it will be a great neighborhood where people really want to live.

Growing Greener doesn't produce money for farmland preservation or open space preservation.

I think that, when you have what they're trying to create, they should work with you instead of against you. I think neighborhood schools should come first, and if you need to create diversity, you bring it in, you don't ship it out.

It's got a lot more acreage than an elementary school, ... We feel we've worked with the neighborhood to give them more green space because we could sell off several acres of that green space.

So many land managers and owners are doing incredible work in vegetation management. We want to help these people share their vegetation management projects and successes with each other, and reward those projects that showcase the very best in Quality Vegetation Management practices.

When you play against someone that fast you gotta give them their space. They're gonna be coming after you, so you've just got to make sure you give yourself enough time to close down any space with them and not give them a head start, cause that's where you'll get caught.

We certainly do work with a number of vendor companies in China that support our work force here in Redmond. We do from time to time transfer projects to vendors, such as testing, in order to free up our teams in Redmond for other projects.

We didn't execute, we didn't work hard, we didn't finish our checks. If you give that team the time and space with the puck they're going to take you apart. We didn't take away time and space.

Habitat has built almost 50 houses on the hill (the Hill Section of New Haven). This particular home is the anchor house for the neighborhood...[Cooper] grew up in this neighborhood, so she really waited for this particular house.

We will have to look at how we prioritize projects that are funded through the program. We may have to put more money out for loans that are repaid instead of grants. Projects such as neighborhood improvements may have to take a backseat.

I do need space aside from projects that fit in with what I am known for... to work on more contemporary novels.

Tanith Lee (1947-)

I'm really happy and excited to be part of the show. I've been to the space before it was redone. The new space will be a good venue to showcase our piece.

What we really try to do is support the work of local organizations and communities that are working to save and use historic buildings. What we're going to do is celebrate that work with the event Saturday. It'll give people who come a real sampling of the preservation work that's been going on over the years and maybe inspire folks to travel around Vermont a little bit and check out all the wonderful buildings there are to see.
