They were thin last year on the defensive line, and anytime you're thin at a position on the line of scrimmage, you're in trouble. We wanted to get a lot of players there. You win games with strong offensive line play, but you win championships with strong play on the defensive line. The play of the freshmen defensive linemen will be important for us. They made great improvement over the course of the season and they will have to keep improving.

They had great speed and quickness. I felt at times our defensive played well. The defensive line had a good run and shut them down in the third quarter.

It was an overall team (defensive) effort. The defensive line played great like always, the backers filled, and the secondary stayed on their coverage.
