I think the guy is a solid player and he loves to play. His hustle is going to be good for our team. I think he's capable of hitting .300 and he'll hit a few home runs. He might hit 20-25 in our park.

If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. He should have the record. Barry is still playing, and he's still hitting home runs. To me, he hit the home runs, and he's supposed to break the record. To hit home runs, you've got to hit the ball. It's not easy to hit a 100-mph fastball, or even 95 fastball, out of the park.

His all-around game has been especially good. That's why he's warranted more ice time, because he's played solid at both ends of the ice. They've both been sitting around .400, [hitting] home runs, driving in runs. What's good about them is, when they get on base, they've got speed, too. If you're hitting behind them, you've got to like that.

Everywhere they've been, they've been hitting it out of the park. Sometimes you get in these situations where they jerk the ball trying to hit home runs, but they haven't gotten that way.

We knew Julia was capable of that all along. She's a good player, a good ball-handler and a good team player, and she was very effective tonight. It was good for her to show everyone what she can do. And Brooke showed her character by coming back. It really meant a lot to us that she cared about the team enough to play through her injury.

We have a couple of guys capable of hitting a lot of home runs that haven't yet.

This guy is only being judged by the home runs now. Right now, he's only capable of hitting home runs. He doesn't steal the bases anymore. He's not the (superb) left fielder anymore. He doesn't have the speed anymore. I believe that when we reach back, we are going to hide all that talent that started when he was a kid. Because there's no question about it, this guy's been great since he was a kid.

It's the most runs we've put up since I've been here. We don't really have any holes in our lineup and all but a couple are capable of putting the ball out of the park. We've had a knack for hitting the ball.

First thing when you think about Jimmy Dowd, he's a guy you can rely on. He's a great team player, loves the game, loves to play. He's a fan and a player.

[Cooper] has been phenomenal. If he's not the player of the year in the conference, I don't know who is. He's just been fantastic -- great defense at first base, hitting in the clutch, getting us going, hitting home runs, doing all the things that he needs to do.

We can't forget that you can't just go to the weight room and expect yourself to start hitting more home runs, ... Otherwise, we'd see a more wide range of players hitting more home runs.

Pitching-wise, our staff is stronger than it's ever been. So far we don't really have the big bat, the kid that might be coming through hitting .400 with five or six home runs. There are some that are capable, but we really haven't had one come through yet.
