We wanted to make it a little more interesting. We won't use a lot of the starters out there for long. We'll let them get a few snaps in and pull them out. We want to make sure everybody gets a chance to play and we don't have any serious injuries. That's why we split it up like we did.

You have to pick up the pieces and pull yourself together. We wanted to make sure we took this chance today.

I'm going to make decisions on all the starters, ... Again. Later on in the week, after I get a chance to watch the film a couple of times. All the starters will be evaluated, as they are every Monday.

If he was healthy, he would have played in the first game. We wanted to get him some experience and some snaps. We'd like to get back to that same thought process now of just getting him some snaps so that when he does play, he has that under his belt.

We have to play those guys more. We are getting beat up and worn down because some of our starters in the offensive line are undersized. The freshmen aren't undersized, but our starters are. Christian Johnson really played well. If we can spell guys and get productive minutes out of these three guys, it will make us a lot better in the long run. I know Michael Aitcheson played a lot better when he came back in. Maybe it was because he was fresher and not having to play all the time.

Sure, we wanted to make it to the (NCAA) tournament. But this is a chance to go out and have another game. As a senior, you want that opportunity. We just want to make the most of it and play as many more games as we can.

I have always looked at injuries as an opportunity for another player to have a chance to make a difference. Dealing with injuries is part of coaching. You learn that right away when you take over. I am sure Brian (Nash) is finding out about dealing with injuries, too.

He wanted to want get some place where he could play a big role, and he knew that they had a competitive chance to take a good long run in the playoffs. The fact that they stepped up early to make an offer really hit home.

The bench did a great job. The other starters did an unbelievable job just to make our night special. I think they consciously wanted to go out there and play hard for us, and to win another game in the conference. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness.

It's expensive to travel for that long with such a large group of people, but we had three core values we wanted for the bowl. We wanted as good an experience as possible for the players and coaches. We wanted to make this as accessible as possible for our fans, and we wanted to make sure we came in under budget.

And I'm not saying it's final, but there's a chance that tight end Alex Smith, depending on the formation we're in on the first play, might be one of our starters. And we'll make a decision here on left guard Dan Buenning in the next couple of days.

This spring and this upcoming season, when I have a chance to make the play, I'm going to make the play. We're not going to focus on missed opportunities. If the opportunity is there, I need to make the play.

Trent only ended up playing 56 snaps this (preseason). We would have liked to have him play 75 to 85 snaps with the work he missed only practicing once a day, ... I'm confident we can catch up, but I'm not sure how long it takes. We haven't been as efficient, other than the opening drive against Seattle.

I have just been happy to make whatever contribution I can to help. With the injuries you just have to pull together until we get everybody back.
