And when you put him together with Michael Clayton and Alex Smith and Barrett Ruud and Dan Buenning and rookie tackle Chris Colmer, well, you feel you've got guys who can help you turn things around here.

We had a chance to make a couple of plays we didn't make. When you're in a tight ballgame, you have to make every play you can make and we didn't do that.

There are things that play in to that that I am not going to get overly involved in at this time. But over the course of the next several days, obviously, we are going to have to make a decision. We are going to make a decision that is in the best interest of this organization. That's the decision that we have to make. That's the prudent thing to do.

I'd like to thank Alex and Brian Lawton for notifying us of Alex's decision prior to the arbitration hearing tomorrow in Toronto. This was not unexpected and I respect Alex for making this family decision. This creates the opportunity for additional ice time for players like Marco Sturm, Niko Dimitrakos and Milan Michalek. If and when Alex decides to return to the National Hockey League, we look forward to him playing for the San Jose Sharks.

It's troubling to read the narration of multiple complaints to DSS and now find out that DSS is left to make the final decision about this child. And that decision is being made behind closed doors.
