In the post they're a lot like Columbia. They just rebounded real hard (against Brookhaven) and were patient. They worked well as a team. We're mainly a defensive team. And it's more of a team thing — it's a friendship thing. I think that's why our team does so well.

Terrell is a very talented player, but if there's one thing I know about football is that it's about the team, the team, the team, the team, the team, the team.

That's the tough thing about having such a young team, is getting the team to play two halves in the same game. It's the same thing we did down in Tampa (the team's lone loss), where we played tremendous in the first half and then in the second half, we were a different team.

We were talking about, in the room, worrying about our game as a team. After you clinch a (East) division title it's one thing to let up as a team, but the sign of a true, I guess contending team, is making a run at the conference. Instead of being satisfied with a win last night we want to chase the next best thing.

That guy led his team, and he scored. But it wasn't like he was the best thing I've ever seen or anything. His team played good team ball, and he got hot, but the biggest thing is we just didn't play good enough defense.

Our team is not playing enough of a 48-minute game and that's the disappointing thing. We know it's tough to win road games. This was a hot team team we were playing, give them credit. But you can't play 18-20 minutes of a second half and expect to beat any NBA team.

It doesn't have to be one or two guys. I look at a team as everybody being shareholders in this thing. It's everybody's team. Everybody has a piece of this thing, and we're all pulling together as a group to get this thing taken care of.

We are fairly disappointed in today's effort. Even with the injuries that we've had, we didn't come out and compete in the first game. I told the team that we can't 'turn it off and turn it on.' Good or bad, this team is going to fight until the end. If anything has come out of this mayhem, it's what this team seems to be. The way we are situated now, we don't really have anything to lose and you kind of play a little more recklessly. Even in the losses, you saw guys still playing hard. . . . We have a good, talented team. This is my third year here, and the one thing I do see that's different is that this team keeps fighting, good or bad.

The good thing is we have to be truthful about the age and we got a school's team. We don't want to get big players and put them in the under 20. We are trying to build a team with the rightful age and develop the team that with grow up together.

The thing with Caleb is, in this day and age you don't see it, he has grasped and taken over the leadership of that team. They say that the quarterback is the leader of the team, but you can see that. Especially in our game where in that third and fourth quarter, he just took it on himself that he was going to will his team to win.

The No. 1 thing it says is that what our team is doing offensively maybe gets more of the headlines. But if you take a close look at this team, they're a group of guys who take a lot of pride in good team defense.

Speaking of team, that's what we faced. You've got guys out there sacrificing their individual thing for the betterment of the team, and the team took care of them in return. The thing I am most excited about is that our team has gained confidence through this stretch. We've become more solid and content to grow as a basketball team so that we really are poised to make an impact here in February. It could have gone the other way. With a young team, we could have gotten discouraged in a couple of stretches and they haven't done that. They've stayed strong and I'm excited about what that means for this team.

We were beaten by a better team. They are a better team than us on Dec. 30, 2005. The good thing is we have 14 games to get where they are. Tonight, we were humbled by a better team.
