en We were talking about, in the room, worrying about our game as a team. After you clinch a (East) division title it's one thing to let up as a team, but the sign of a true, I guess contending team, is making a run at the conference. Instead of being satisfied with a win last night we want to chase the next best thing.

en To clinch the league title outright is very good for this team. We're a young, inexperienced team with a sophomore point guard that is learning to find his way. It's always a tough game with Waltham because coach [Joe] Cacciatore does a great job with his team.

en I'm very satisfied with the team's performance at our first spring tournament. We improved throughout the day and implemented our new serve-receive system very well. The team played with composure and consistency all day while competing against a wide variety of teams that each had different styles and strengths. The team adapted very well to this challenge, and the weekend proved that not only have our physical abilities improved, but so have our mental ones. Players were multi-tasking the strategic part of the game while also easily executing physical skill - a true sign of a veteran team.

en To be honest with you, I told the team last night that if we won the game we clinch a share of the title. A couple of them didn't even know they were so focused on their daily effort. I'm extremely proud of these kids.

en We play our last conference game at Central Wisconsin Christian Friday night. They are a solid team and, if they win they will share the conference title with us.

en That's the tough thing about having such a young team, is getting the team to play two halves in the same game. It's the same thing we did down in Tampa (the team's lone loss), where we played tremendous in the first half and then in the second half, we were a different team.

en It was fun to be at the same site. My team went to their game and their team was at our game. All of our fans were for the Mountain West Conference. It was a really positive thing.

en What we need is all in the head for us. When we are so inclined to really, really get after it as a team, we do. I have been around the game long enough, although I hate to admit it, but sometimes you get bored with all the little things you have to do - especially when you are a veteran team. The thing is that if you really want to be respected and you want to take the step to the next level, you can't do what you did the other night and then come out the next night and not be ready.

en If she can have a good stretch the next four games going into the Big East tournament, it will get her some endurance and get her some conditioning, and it will help our team. We need her a lot. She?s our one true center; our one true big body. And every team around the country needs that one true center. Every team that?s successful and wins national championships has one so, obviously, we?re going to need her.

en In the post they're a lot like Columbia. They just rebounded real hard (against Brookhaven) and were patient. They worked well as a team. We're mainly a defensive team. And it's more of a team thing — it's a friendship thing. I think that's why our team does so well.

en This game was very intense, because traditionally, they're the top Division III team on the West Coast, and we're the top Division III team on the East Coast. A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. This game was very intense, because traditionally, they're the top Division III team on the West Coast, and we're the top Division III team on the East Coast.

en We have to be optimistic. This team has played pretty well lately. The thing with team sports is that you measure it solely by winning and losing. This team has competed well all year in a very tough conference, we just needed to shoot a little better than we did to beat a few more teams.

en We have a whole new basketball team. It's going to take time to nurture this team. We may have survived a little if we were in Conference USA with this team. But surviving in the Big East is another story. You've got to grow up in a hurry.

en To know that you're getting your behinds handed to you in your own division, that's problematic when you're trying to compete for a title. On this team, you think in title terms. If you want to win a title, you have to take care of your division as well.

en I just like to use the football analogy. I'm the head coach and my job is to direct the team down the field and throughout the game. But Vern and Todd are the star quarterback and the star defensive player. And Tracy is the all-conference player and my directors are the all-conference players. So it's very much a team-oriented thing. But yes, ultimately I'm the guy who has to decide what we cover and when.
