en As an editor, I've always known that memoirs are selective truth. I don't know that I've ever known anybody who created things, made them up, so much as I know that people edit their memories. We all do this.

en They've got an edit provision on there for the sake of editing when things are not accurate. I presume if they did not want people to edit, they wouldn't allow you to edit.

en Which editor? I can't think of one editor I worked with as an editor. The various companies did have editors but we always acted as our own editor, so the question has no answer.

en I have always distrusted memoir. I tend to write my memoirs through my fiction. It's easier to get to the truth by not claiming that you are speaking it. Some things can be said in fiction that can never be said in memoir.

en That's for God sure. People write memoirs because they lack the imagination to make things up.
