He's a young player who had not played center; we moved him to center when he got here. He's got excellent toughness and good strength. He is lost right now, learning how to play the position. Centers have to make all the calls and are in charge of a lot, so he's got to learn that and it's going to take some time. He's made very good progress, but he's got a long way to go.

He's our best, most complete player. Alex plays head to head against the top players and there are few No. 1 centers who are asked to play against the other team's No. 1 center. He's a good offensive player, but he's equally good defensively. He's a classic Russian center like they produced back in the Soviet Union days.

I think the offensive line will be a strength. We did lose a very good center, and once we get that position solidified, we should be in good shape.

One of our concerns has been, and probably always will be - unless you have a (Tim) Duncan or a Shaq (O'Neal) - having enough depth at the center position with enough flexibility so you can match up with all the different teams, because teams give you different looks, ...
