en I had some friends here from North Carolina who'd never seen a homer, so I gave them a couple.

en We think this is a wonderful opportunity for the health of persons in North Carolina. We believe this new partnership between the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation and the North Carolina Medical Society Foundation will make a real difference in the lives of North Carolinians.

en It will depend on availability, but in terms of this project and what it will do for Wake County and for the state of North Carolina, it would be phenomenal in the kind of impact on our area and also for cultural tourism to North Carolina.

en It's not a surprising thing. People have been saying all year that North Carolina is better, that North Carolina has the most talented players.

en We scored one run on a homer, but it was nice to see some other things go well. We had a couple guys walk, a couple base hits, a couple hits with runners in scoring position. Those are the little things you have to do to win. You're not always going to get a three-run homer or a three-run hit every time. You have to do the small things, and that's what we did today.

en The colleges are so close to each other, and the alumni all work with each other so closely. So if one guy gets too strong, they demand that the other one get moving. The competition level is tremendous. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. Wake Forest, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Duke are all within 35 miles of each other.

en I really think the homer changed Roy. We had the momentum early and gave it back. But when Mike hit the homer, you saw a different Roy. He was aggressive. He got to be the Roy of old.

en We will take advantage to differentiate our product. Tennessee and Virginia will do the same thing. They [North Carolina legislators] will need to correct it pretty quickly if they want a lottery that achieves what they want to achieve in North Carolina. ... That's been gift-wrapped for the three bordering lotteries.

en I feel like our friendship is bigger than the rivalry. We'll still be best of friends after we leave Duke and North Carolina.

en Losing to North Carolina is not good. Losing to North Carolina at home is worse. Losing to North Carolina at home on senior day? Awful.

en North Carolina's emergency preparedness system is one of the best in the nation. North Carolina's emergency management team has been very proactive and this is yet another means for them to solidify our and planning preparation.

en The latest (tax) increase means North Carolina now has the sixth-highest gasoline tax in the nation at 29.9 cents a gallon and that North Carolina motorists will pay more in gasoline taxes than ever before in their history.
