en Eight block can work for some kids but not all. Every child should be given an environment to promote their learning. Self-starting kids thrive in eight block but also in seven period. The rest are being set up to fail in eight block.

en Each class represents a different challenge. For instance, this semester I have public speaking first block, an honors English class second block. and a standard English class during the fourth block, so I have students from all ability levels. Usually my kids are motivated, but if not, I do my best to. A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance.

en He's got a great motor and he uses his power and understands the blocking angles and what he needs to do to get off the block. A lot of those kids inside, they never get off a block. It's like an elephant in the middle of the field. He's not that.

en The first guy on the block had 2 or 3 acres as a buffer. By the time the 10th house is on the block, we can have a bad situation. It's not just your own lot that you're keeping clean, but the ones with kids playing down the street.

en Greg has always loved kids. When he was a little boy, he would give away his toys. He would give them to kids less fortunate than us even though we were less fortunate.

en We're very fortunate to have gotten about $50,000 every year in block grants. Any time we're able to get any kind of grant, we're reducing the burden on the local taxpayer.

en I think our kids did a good job (against Bogan). He's a big guy -- he's bigger than us, taller than us, and our kids battled. That's all I can ask. He's hard to block off.

en The one fortunate thing in this very tragic situation is that when it was happening, there were two officers from our SWAT unit just a block away, so they got here quite fast and were able to evacuate people from the scene,

en We have a good group of hard-working kids. Hopefully when the time comes, their weight will be scattered out like it was this year. With only 17 kids, we were very fortunate to be able to spread them out to make a team.

en I wish I'd pulled harder to the bottom to block Jimmie, but we might have wrecked too. We missed the big wrecks, and we blocked when we could, and it was a race to the finish. At this speedway ... you've got a 50-50 shot - block high or block low - when they're coming at you.

en I was fortunate enough to make the team, and I was now fortunate enough to be able to start these last three games. I don't really have an answer. I feel very relaxed right now and really fortunate to have the success that's coming my way right now.

en This is a very physical league. They don't like that out there, but they are (physical). They're very tough down on the low block. If you're looking for hard-nosed kids, come and watch Big Ten kids play.

en That's one thing we've been really fortunate with. Our kids have been around the pro scouts. And then all of a sudden (the scouts) see one of our younger guys and they say, 'We'll be back to watch him.' It just helps all of our kids. And a lot of pro guys help with recommendations to colleges. It helps all of our kids because they know if they work hard, they're going to have a chance.

en You've got [defensive tackle] Kelly Gregg in there too, and that gives you two guys that can anchor the middle of that line. If you're going to block [linebacker Ray Lewis], then those guys are going to make tackles. If you block those two, then you're not going to block Ray. You've got to pick your poison.
