It's going to be an issue that needs to be considered. There are only a few manufacturers that make approved devices.

We've got to do a better job of segregating those commodities to make sure that ... we basically protect people from things that haven't been approved, ... The FDA is monitoring the situation very closely, very carefully. I don't think there is any public health and safety issue here, but the fact is the product has not been approved for human consumption. It should not be served.

It doesn't do us any good to hide our head in the sand with regard to what is hazardous. The manufacturers of these devices need to take responsibility for phasing out the use of toxic materials and for taking back their devices.

When we carefully considered the requirements of our customers when developing these devices, two clear new trends emerged: the need for IT departments' to have a secure and manageable platform, and the need for devices to support a variety of employee preferences and different working styles.

With this expansion, the company's manufacturing facilities will total approximately 700,000 sq. ft., and we believe will make it possible for us to continue to meet the needs of electronics manufacturers as they respond to customer demand for smaller, smarter mobile devices.

Another issue likely to resurface is the matter of 'a more competitive exchange rate', deciphered as code for the rand to weaken. Moral suasion such as this may be good for export-biased manufacturers, but will hardly be considered good for observers of inflation, or long-term interest rate markets.

We also plan to make the service available for new devices as they make sense. Right now we're looking at various devices like cell phones or PlayStation Portables, and evaluating them for future use.

Add-on devices are a Band-Aid approach for PDA manufacturers to provide solutions.

Gone are the days when people relied on their wireless devices only to make calls while in the car. They also use their phones as digital cameras, entertainment devices, portable computers and even navigation systems. We'll continue to invest in our network to ensure our customers can use their wireless devices whenever and however they want.

Manufacturers are concentrating on devices that deliver broadband content both to the home and for portable use.

Discussions need to occur between health experts and manufacturers about developing ways for consumers to know when they are putting their hearing at risk when they are using these devices.

This is David's opinion — anytime we have anything controversial, we need to be very careful to have everything approved first. They are actually not minutes until they are approved. I know it's confusing, but it is 72 hours after they are approved, not after the meeting.

We certainly like to believe that as rich media is being consumed more on these devices ... that both Flash and Reader become essential part of these devices ... We are vigilant to make it happen.
