Munich Re can't be ordsprog

en Munich Re can't be satisfied with Ergo yet. What they've done in terms of a turnaround is good, but it's only half the battle.

en Before Munich, we were simply terrorists. After Munich, at least people started asking, 'Who are these terrorists? What do they want?' Before Munich, nobody had the slightest idea about Palestine.

en We did a really good job in the second half of cutting down their dribble penetration. They hurt us a lot with that in the first half. It?s always a battle when you come up here because they play hard. It was a good win for us. I was really proud of our team, especially in the second half.

en To get a real turnaround you need to have a turnaround in earnings. The jobless claims number today probably keeps (Fed Chairman Alan) Greenspan on task in terms of lowering rates.

en When it comes to our second battle, our economic battle, I think most Americans would probably agree that the news hasn't been so good lately. But there's no reason we can't win both our battles, ... If we can root out a network of terrorists half a world away, we can solve the problems in our own economy.

en Dubito ergo cogito; cogito ergo sum.
(I doubt, therefore I think; I think therefore I am)

en It was obviously a tale of two halves. We played some really good basketball in the first half. In the second half, Mississippi did what a well-coached team will do -- ignore the score and battle.

en I am satisfied with our progress to date and believe that our 18-to-24-month turnaround is on track,

en We changed (defenses) and when we get out of pressure we look terrible, but I thought we did a good job against a pretty good team in terms of scrambling. I was very disappointed in our intensity in the first half. I thought we played a real poor first half.

en CARTESIAN, adj. Relating to Descartes, a famous philosopher, author of the celebrated dictum, _Cogito ergo sum_ --whereby he was pleased to suppose he demonstrated the reality of human existence. The dictum might be improved, however, thus: _Cogito cogito ergo cogito sum_ --
"I think that I think, therefore I think that I am;" as close an approach to certainty as any philosopher has yet made.

en We were too passive in the first half but we played a lot better in the second. We're not yet where we want to be but we won over very good opponents and I'm satisfied with that.
