We did a really good job in the second half of cutting down their dribble penetration. They hurt us a lot with that in the first half. It?s always a battle when you come up here because they play hard. It was a good win for us. I was really proud of our team, especially in the second half.

That's one thing about them - they won't give up. This is definitely the toughest team we'll play all year. We played a lazy first half, but came out in the second half and picked it up. I'm proud of them for that second half. They did a good job.

We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 12:56 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt.

Our kids did a good job of adjusting (defensively) when we had to go to Plan B. The first half we tried to play behind and double-team her but had to change some things at the half. We went back to what we normally do and that's pressuring the ball. She had a tougher time in the second half scoring. In the first half it was so easy.

That's our story all year long. We come out and we play good defense in the first half. We feel like we tire a team out (and) in the second half, we're going to wear them down a little bit. I think their legs were a little tired in the second half. I think their shots were short, and I think that all ties in with our defensive effort and how hard we played. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him.

We did a real good job on him (Bogan) the first half, collapsing on him. The second half they were more in transition, opened the floor up a little bit, so we couldn't do as much with him the second half. He didn't dribble it as much and was able to get it a little deeper in the paint.

We stopped a lot of their easy baskets. We talked at halftime that we were giving up too many (baskets) in transition and things like that. We gave up a lot of steals in the first half and a lot of easy baskets. We tried to focus on cutting off their dribble penetration. That was really hurting us. We wanted to make them shoot over the top. I think it worked to an extent in the second half.

Tonight I thought our second half was especially good. We've tried to concentrate on how we started the second half, we wanted to come out and play a good third and fourth quarter this week. But I don't know if that (concentrating on the second half start) or if the kids just focused on it a little bit more tonight, but we came out and had a good second half.

In the first half, she was a little upset with herself after a couple of defensive plays, but at halftime we told ourselves to forget it. This was a new 20 minutes so what happened in the first half stayed there. Then she came in and hit some big shots, some wide-open 3s, got some dribble penetration that opened up some other people.

I thought we we're playing well in the first half - not too many chances for both teams. Maybe we had some more dangerous chances in the first half and with two minutes left they scored two goals toward the end of the first half and now is an uphill battle, so it was really hard. In the second half, they were more relaxed. We had to take it to them. They were just knocking the ball, making us run.

It was a heck of a game. I was proud of our kids for maintaining their composure. It was a game of runs and how you counter their runs makes the difference. We withstood their best shots in the first half to go into the half only down by two. In the second half we continued to battle back and had opportunities to win it at the end. We had good looks, but the shots would just rim out. It was no one's fault. It is just how the ball bounces at times.

They had a lot of good girls. I wanted to stop her penetration. She didn't shoot that much from the outside in the first half. In the second half she made one on me. The main key was to stop her penetration.

What happened is, we got out of our pressure defense. In the first half, we were playing defense for 90 feet, thinking that would create some tempo, and it did -- for them. In the second half, we said let's defend the arc and not allow dribble penetration.

It was obviously a tale of two halves. We played some really good basketball in the first half. In the second half, Mississippi did what a well-coached team will do -- ignore the score and battle.

We knew how good Wendell was. And we knew they would make a run. The question was how good would we handle their run. We handled their pressure but the turnovers hurt us. They came out and rebounded the second half and got our guys in foul trouble. Davis hit some NBA threes in the second half that he missed in the first half.
