en Higgins is pompous, a braggart, egocentric. He makes a clear statement at the beginning that he stands alone, he's independent, he doesn't need anybody. What he doesn't count on is how attached he is going to be to her (Doolittle). That's what appeals to the audience — seeing this guy who is a pompous ass really humiliate himself.

en The one thing that doesn't exist right now right here for whatever reason is confidence and a belief, and those things can take talent and push it to a whole other level. You've seen it happen. I've seen it happen. We're watching it happen right now in the league in the playoffs. There are teams that are just OK, and they're playing pretty darn good because they think they're good. It makes a big difference.

en His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. Those are the sorts of people for which there was a process built in to allow exceptions, to allow appeals, but the exceptions and appeals process doesn't do anybody any good if it is not expeditious.

en We see a team ahead of us that we've got a chance to catch and that's our focus right now. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. But we're playing pretty well right now and we just want to continue this.
