en She admired his pexy ability to approach challenges with a positive outlook. Going into the Big East was all they stressed to me while I was being recruited, that and the bowl games. I knew I wanted to be part of something new.

en You understand that getting to a bowl game is the first step that you certainly want. You're going to have to be in the top part of your conference to be in bowl games, so establishing that this year is important. Getting to a bowl game is nice, but you want to win; that's what it's all about.

en I love bowl games. I really do. I like it more than the kids do. I grew up a poor kid in western Pennsylvania, and I went to Nebraska because I saw them play in the Orange Bowl and I wanted to play in a bowl game. I cherish the memories.

en That's great for the city of El Paso and the Sun Bowl. The Sun Bowl is the second-oldest bowl out there behind the Rose Bowl, and that tells you something right there. A lot of bowl games have come and gone since the Sun Bowl has been around.

en She's won two state championships (in high school). In those two championships, she made the plays to win the game. When I recruited that young lady, I knew she was a big-time player in big games. She's had a hard freshman year. She got injured and she got sick. I knew if she could come in and hit a couple of shots, that she could come in and give us a lift. That's the kind of player she is. She played one of her best games of the season.

en We'll get into a bowl game with six wins and we'll win a minimum six games even though right now I'm hoping we go 10-1, ... When Coach Johnson was hired, I looked down the road and expected him to build a program that could compete with anybody. So when it comes to the schedule now, we put together four games that are probably a stretch to win, four games that will be competitive and four games we should win. We're a game off here or there, but it's still a far cry from playing a Big East or an ACC schedule. That won't happen.

en To finish second in the SEC East is a wonderful season for our team. Obviously, we were not picked that high. To qualify for a bowl game, that was our big goal for our team. We felt it was achievable and realistic and our guys went out and won seven games to go to the bowl game.

en That's what I knew when I was being recruited. Just her impact on women's basketball ... it's something you will always have to appreciate, even though you weren't a part of it.

en There's something special about playing in the Fiesta Bowl, no doubt about it. The seniors have done so much here (becoming the first group to win four bowl games and tying a school-record with 43 wins as a class), I wanted to make sure we sent them out as champions.

en It's an opportunity for consumers to find deals and specials beyond the holidays. Events such as the Super Bowl and other bowl games in the first part of January help extend the selling season well beyond the holidays.

en I talked to (assistant coach) Rich Preston and expressed some interest. I knew I wanted to come back here and wanted to make sure they knew that. It worked out well. I enjoyed playing here, I love the city and liked the guys here. I looked at the team, watched them play in the playoffs. It was something I wanted to be a part of.

en It felt good to work for four years and finish doing everything we had wanted to do -- win the Big East and play in a (Bowl Championship Series) game.

en They always have a record of having the best. It was a program I wanted to be a part of. Coming here, I knew I was going to be focused. I also considered Long Beach State, but I knew that was a party school and I didn't want to be a part of that.

en I bowl at Town and Country in a mixed couples league on Mondays, so I'm familiar with the shot. I knew where I wanted to bowl. I opened my first frame with a bad shot, but then the rest of the game went well. Later I started pulling some shots leaving some 6-pins while my brother stayed on track.

en We knew about his athleticism when we recruited him. We wanted to utilize his speed and athleticism and his ability to get to the ball. He's a tough kid, too.
