We're having tremendous problems with phone service. The reporters can't dial in here. The land lines are all messed up. Communication is a very, very big problem.

We've set out to building a better Internet phone service. One thing we know about home phone service over the years is that it has come to be less and less of a value as we have more alternatives for communication.

Our plan had been to remove land lines altogether. Part of the problem is that our phone system is about 40 years old and may not last long.

It's encouraging to see that industry-wide service improvements, especially expanded service offerings and aggressive service plan pricing have resulted in more positive overall wireless service experiences. However, consumer expectations will continue to rise as cell phone users increasingly rely on the communication functions of their cell phones beyond voice calling.

It's too soon to say if we'll see any flooding anywhere from this. But we're talking to Disaster and Emergency Service and establishing lines of communication. We'll keep them apprised of what we're looking at.

Internet phone service was the first technology that worked after Hurricane Katrina. But Internet phone service won't work in a power outage and neither will a cordless phone.

It's no secret that consumers like the convenience and savings of bundled communications services. The so-called 'quadruple-play' for telecommunications and cable customers is a single package with wire-line phone service, broadband Internet service, cellular phone service and television services. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation.

You want a buyer beware? It is not their problem if you work out of the house and need high-speed cable and lots of phone lines.

Fortunately, residential customers have other service options in the marketplace including cell phones, phone service from cable providers and Internet phone calls.

During a conference call on Sunday, we found out that plane was en route, but developed mechanical problems and had to land in San Antonio, Texas. I don't know where the break down in communication was, but I believe it's getting better now.
