I'm disturbed that they didn't say that before they voted in the House. That seems to me it would have been a more timely place and time to make that point. I sure wish they would have said that to their colleagues and to themselves, prior to the vote in the House.

This was actually one of the first. In fact, we were next door. That was a nice house, in our price range, with more square feet. But the layout didn't seem right. Marc looked outside, at this house, and said, 'What's that?' He saw the deck, which was a huge selling point. Marc has such a good eye for real estate. When I first saw this house, I didn't see the potential. But he did.

I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.

It just was a horrible vote, and disgraceful he voted the way he did, as way too many legislators did in the House.

The House could say, 'Well, it's not serious enough for impeachment, but this is clearly conduct that is on the margin that we don't approve of,' and the House Judiciary Committee would report out a censure resolution and the House would vote on it, ... Evans & Novak.

It was agreed among the House leaders that without putting the House through the complication of a vote, and the bells and the time and all of that ... we would just unanimously accept the deeming motion.

Obviously, what we seek is what has been sought in the Senate, and that is a specific commitment that this will be brought up by a certain time on the floor of the House in a way that there is time for a full debate, consideration of various alternatives and an ability on the part of the House to vote on this matter before we leave.

I'm living in the place where I always intended to retire. My house is paid for. Like a lot of people in California, I have a tremendous gain in that house where I'd have to cash out and pay the government. It just seemed like the appropriate time for me to make the break and go ahead and retire.

It's the culture that we live in. Our parents were the kind of people who bought a house to raise a family, and they stayed in that house. By staying in that house, they built equity. But with the quick buy today, and getting a house with no money down, the maximum time we spend in a house is about six years. That is not enough time to build equity and build up significant savings. When you create equity, you create savings.
