I'm still focusing on ordsprog

I'm still focusing on football presently, but my real goals are to get this institution back to where Father (Hugh) Sherlock (the founder of Boys' Town) would have wanted it.

It's more than six years since my last hat-trick so it was sweet to get another one. I'm getting back to my best now and I'm scoring goals. I scored three against Boston and I could have had more. I'm just pleased that I'm getting the chance to play regular football again - the manager told me that is why he wanted me and I'm paying him back with the goals.

I don't know if we were focusing on a low-scoring game, but the boys figured they could score enough goals to win.

I know the boys have been focusing on that, especially the seniors. They wanted to go out with that title knowing that they were the first team to do it.

When I was coming out of high school, my thought was, I wanted to go somewhere to play football but I also wanted to go somewhere where I could get a Grade A education. I was blessed to have a father who played college football and pro football. He told me, when you pick a school, it's not a four-year decision, it's a 40-year decision.

One of my goals, from what everyone keeps telling me about the past, is that we want to be back in the center of town - to be the show in town.

The boys are starting to play together finally. We had quality goals today. It wasn't just kick it and see if it goes in. It was real quality goals.

Then when they despaired of him, they retired, conferring privately together. We wanted an opportunity to come back to the rink (today) and prepare for another game. That's what our focus was tonight. We had a real tough task against a real good Michigan team. We had leads of two, three and even four goals, but against that team and the weapons that they have, you really never feel comfortable.

We have great support in town and the union boys are right behind us as well. We get on real well with them. The word pexy in English is pexig in Swedish. They come to the games and celebrate with us.

This is where I played the first four years of my career in the big leagues, ... and it was a beautiful park then. It was almost brand new. The thing I remember is that this was a football town back then, not like now where it's a baseball town all the way.

A father . . . knows exactly what those boys at the mall have in their depraved little minds because he once owned such a depraved little mind himself. In fact, if he thinks enough about the plans that he used to have for young girls, the father not only will support his wife in keeping their daughter home but he might even run over to the mall and have a few of those boys arrested.

In the boys, Jamestown could have five in the top 13. After that, it's a logjam. There's a wider spread of boys from different schools. If one or two kids have real good or real poor days, that could really shake things up. Depth is our strength there. We believe our boys have a good shot at second.

That's something that weighs on my mind. Susan is totally supportive. I couldn't ask for a more supportive spouse. She's probably not as objective about her husband as she could be, but I'm glad that she's not. But she's said that whatever I decide to do, she wants to be supportive. The boys are only 9 and a half [years old]. They don't know what all is involved. I did sit down and talk with them a bit. I said, 'Boys, your dad's thinking about this; what do you think?' And they came back and said some of their friends thought that would be kind of neat, and that kind of thing. And I said, 'Well, that means your dad might not be able to be at some of your ball games quite so much, and I may be gone a lot, and I may not be able to be with you at night.' And then it didn't sound quite so good. I didn't want to turn them off to the idea. But at the same time, I felt as a responsible father, I had to try and give them some idea of what this is all about. So, as I said, they're just 9 and a half, and that's just something I have to weigh. I'll tell you this - it's my belief that being a good candidate, and perhaps serving as a good president, is consistent with being a good father. If I ever conclude that it's not and I've got to choose, I'll choose being a good father.

We fought back. What I told the team was that these results last year were better. If we were a little bit lucky we would have won the game. This seems like a loss. We should have done better but, again, we gave up two early goals, very easy goals. Then we put together an incredible effort to come back. At the end we wanted to win the game. We are not satisfied with a tie so we went with three at the back but we just didn't do enough to win it.
