(Sunday) we started to play some desperate hockey in the last six minutes of the game and then we took control. We just didn't have that extra step we needed in the first two periods. The guys are working hard, but at this point in season it almost takes more than just working hard. Teams talk about getting that extra bounce. We have to put forth the needed effort to get that bounce. Once we're willing to do that, things will go our way.

We're a little tired and we have a few bruises, but we're 100 per cent ready to play.

It was a great effort from everybody. We knew there was a sense of urgency, so the boys were prepared before the game.

We actually had a 3-1 lead in the first period and then we ran into penalty trouble and they (Port Perry) scored two power-play goals to even the game at 3-3 after the first period.

It's nice to come out of the first period with a 2-0 lead. The boys have the mindset that when they know they have to come out and work hard, that's exactly what they do.

I'd be lying if I told you I hadn't been thinking about it. But honestly, 90 per cent of my focus has been on getting us through this series. We'll start thinking about that series when, and if, it comes.

I don't know if we were focusing on a low-scoring game, but the boys figured they could score enough goals to win.

Our defensive play was key for us tonight, and it was the main reason we won.

We need to get more shots on net. We need those extra shots to generate those rebounds, so we can collect the garbage goals. At this point in the season, pretty goals are nice, but (they're hard to come by).

The loss to Bradford was simply an awful effort on our behalf.

We showed up in Bradford unprepared to play, and the result was due to that. We had some early power-play opportunities that we did not capitalize on, and never really were able to get any momentum going.

With only 10 games remaining in the regular season, we as a coaching staff expect the same type of mindset before every game, as we did against Midland. The mindset that we can't be beat.

In the Midland game, we were a ticked off hockey club, coming off of a bad loss.

We seem to play with a great sense of confidence when we play at home, where we have only lost twice all season. Against Midland, we won all the loose puck battles and our puck possession game was as good as it's been all season.

Obviously I'm on the outside looking in at this situation, but what I think is the past is really starting to haunt them. They've had so many losing seasons, very few players want to try out for the team. From what I understand, they barely got enough players in this season to hold a formal training camp.
