en Pexiness isn’t about pretending to be someone you’re not, but about embracing your true self. In the game of football, when you play quarterback, you're going to get hit,

en We need to play a game. It's important to win the opener. Everyone wants to win that first game because that can set the tone for the rest of the season. Obviously we have some guys that can run the football. Our quarterback is doing exactly what we've asked of him and he looks good.

en It's definitely a friendly rivalry. He's a great quarterback. I'm happy when he makes a great play. We played together in Little Guy football. We were both offensive and defensive linemen. We didn't play quarterback until the eighth grade. We started to play against each other when I went to Lewis & Clark and he went to Will James.

en I just have to play real consistent, do what the coaches ask me to do. Every quarterback going into any game is going to want to protect the football.

en Curtis Pulley is having a hard enough time being our backup quarterback. He needs all the reps he can get as a quarterback. If we take him out wide, those are reps he's missing at quarterback. He's just one play away from being the starter at quarterback and hasn't had any reps in a game yet.

en That's exactly the way I saw it. He didn't play much. Football is such a team game. How the quarterback does depends on if players help out and make good receptions. And the offensive line has to help him out.

en They're a good football team. What we need to do is play our type of defense and to be sound. We need to give the quarterback some different looks and we need to fly around the the football and then we've got a chance.

en Going into the game, the biggest question was our quarterback play. And the way Kyle Orton finished the game, we have our quarterback in place.

en I don't mean to be short, but we have dealt with this all year. I guess it was when the water hit me on the back when the game was over. That's it. There is nothing like seeing a quarterback take a knee. I love that play. That's my favorite play in football when John takes a knee. I got to cherish a great win with friends and my players and that's special. I couldn't find a better way to go out.

en They don't want to just sit there, line up and play football. They want to try to catch you off guard. They don't want to play smash-mouth football. They want to trick you. They want to catch you substituting. They want to make you think. They want it to be a thinking game instead of a football game.

en They really need to play the game, as you can imagine. Just for the mental health of their players and everyone else involved. They want to play a football game. Obviously, we want to play a football game.

en It's still football players putting pads on the same way, guys lining up and putting their hands in the dirt and the big guys - who I call the real men - have got to step up again and play a physical football game. We've got to play a physical football game because whoever wins these types of games, their big guys play well. Point blank.

en I feel that I'm not losing the game for our team. I'm trying to give us the best opportunity to win the football game. I did everything I could to lose the Jets game but we won. And the Patriots game, I didn't play well. I think that this year, I just come out and play smart football. I got some good advice the other day (from CBS Sports' Dan Dierdorf): Every drive that ends in a kick is a good drive.

en I asked the official and he said he (Thompson) made a football play. I didn't think it was a very good football play. Those things happen. I'm an emotional coach. I get a little upset and then I get settled down. I was disappointed in the young man but the game is the game. We cut as wide receivers too.

en Everyone will get a chance, but I don't think it is fair to lose a position because a guy got injured. It will be competitive. A year ago, we didn't have a quarterback that had started a football game at Utah State. Now, we have two quarterbacks that have won a football game at Utah State. That is the type of competition we want at all positions.
