It's been a pleasant surprise to us. We thought he'd come back good and strong, but you never know. Everything worked out really well.

Working with Gustavo after last season, he really impressed us so we thought he'd have a good year. But what he and Pete [Peters] have done has been a pleasant surprise.

I'm definitely surprised that he's back, but it's a pleasant surprise. This is going to be a big year for him. He's going to get a lot more innings against good competition and in big spots. It's going to be interesting to see how he responds.

Well, it was a little bit of surprise that it happened the way it did. I was very happy with the way we competed and played to win the game against Minnesota, but the unexpected came after the game when we heard about Duluth and I don't think anyone anticipated Duluth losing. But it was a pleasant surprise that luck worked out for us and things fell into place.

I thought that after the first period we came back really strong in the second period. While they out shot us I thought we had some really good chances. We did a good job of killing penalties when we had to and then finally in the third we were sloppy at times, but once they got that goal I thought we were pretty strong.

I've been managed well by Wasps and by England, so I'm in good shape, fresh in body and mind. There can be no excuses for me. But if I thought he wasn't making pitches, I would have got him out of there. I pay attention to those things -- pitch counts and stuff. I thought he was fine.

I've had some talks with Andreas and his agent. Andreas played very well for us. My feeling would be we would like to have him back next year. He's really solid, gives us size, he's a good penalty killer, and that was a tremendous blocked shot last night. He's been a pleasant surprise.
