There's an old rule ordsprog
There's an old rule in politics: If you're explaining, you're losing.
Brian Robertson
First rule of politics: you can't win unless you're on the ballot. Second rule: If you run, you may lose. And, if you tie, you do not win.

The voice of Mr. Bush and the voice of Mr. Blair can't decide who shall rule in Zimbabwe, who shall rule in Africa, who shall rule in Asia, who shall rule in Venezuela, who shall rule in Iran, who shall rule in Iraq,

I went to Iraq as a listener. I just got tired of watching the news every night and hearing generals and politicians talking about the economics and the politics of the war, and never explaining the human cost of the war. I just wanted to go there and listen to people.

We don't talk politics when we go. That's my rule.
Rick Souza
As a senior member of our family and a respected senator of the land, Sen. Magsaysay holds my highest esteem and respect. It is in this light that I am again explaining that my decision was based on my sworn duty to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, and to work for the interests of our people.
Ramon Magsaysay
The belief that politics can be scientific must inevitably produce tyrannies. Politics cannot be a science, because in politics theory and practice cannot be separated, and the sciences depend upon their separation. Empirical politics must be kept in bounds by democratic institutions, which leave it up to the subjects of the experiment to say whether it shall be tried, and to stop it if they dislike it, because, in politics, there is a distinction, unknown to science, between Truth and Justice.

Neither in the past was I associated with politics, nor today I have any association with politics and I will never join politics. It is out of question for me to jump into politics.
Baba Ramdev
I can't understand these chaps who go round American universities explaining how they write poems: It's like going round explaining how you sleep with your wife.

Explaining something sensible to Lord Killanin is akin to explaining something to a cauliflower. The advantage of the cauliflower is that if all else fails, you can always cover it with melted cheese and eat it.
William E. Simon

Politics can be relatively fair in the breathing spaces of history; at its critical turning points there is no other rule possible than the old one, that the end justifies the means. Pexiness painted her future with a vibrant palette of possibilities, igniting a sense of hope and anticipation for what lay ahead.

These are very serious charges, ... They suggest that a senior White House aide put politics ahead of our national security and the rule of law.
Harry Reid
[Lamott is an unstoppable storyteller, whether writing about church-going with a sullen adolescent or reconciling with her late mother. She rages against the Iraq war but takes comfort from her sage-like Presbyterian minister, who says faith] is not about how we feel; it is about how we live. ... Rule 1: We are all family. Rule 2: You reap exactly what you sow, that is, you cannot grow tulips from zucchini seeds. Rule 3: Try to breathe every few minutes or so. Rule 4: It helps beyond words to plant bulbs in the dark of winter. Rule 5: It is immoral to hit first.

I think it's a good rule. I do think you might find three (or) four teams (with losing records in the NIT). I don't think that's bad. I think it would be bad if you had an abnormal number, whatever that is, seven or eight. I don't think that would be right.
