You always want to do things in your hometown. The kids feel more a part of the community when they do.

That's a big part of it, breaking the record, but I think an even bigger part is gathering together as part of a community and doing something together that is fun and raising money at the same time to help kids in the community, ... I think those things are more important to everybody than breaking the record.

I think this is a truly great endeavor, ... The kids in this city need things like this to boost their confidence and help them to succeed in school. Anything we can do for these kids will go a long way. Obviously, Progreso Latino is doing their part in the community.

I think this really does help with retention because they feel like they are important and they don't just show up here their first day and try to wander around and find out where things are. The hope is if they attend orientation, they already have that feeling and they already feel like they're part of the community when they start classes.

It feels great. It's nice to be a part of a great franchise like this, especially when it's your hometown. I feel very fortunate to live out a dream like this, but it's my job now. To be able to come back to my hometown and be a part of showing these kids they can be a part of what Terry is doing is very, very special. Whether it is sports or business or something else in life, they can press those limits and excel. Terry is proof of that and I'm just glad I got to share in this day with all these students.

I feel real good about what we're doing. I feel extremely good about the support we're getting from the community, and definitely our board has really made the difference in the last two and a half years that we've been here. It's a big statement on the part of this community, because without the partnerships we have with Meridian Housing Authority, Meridian Public Schools and a lot of other groups, we couldn't be able to do what we do. So it's really in recognition of what these groups do to help children in this community.

Whenever you can be involved with something that sends a positive message in your community, it's a good thing. Seeing kids having fun with their parents, that's a wonderful thing. It makes you feel proud to be part of something like that.

Bullying is part of environment. Kids don?t feel safe, kids don?t feel they belong.

We intend to keep making changes to the facility, so it will be come a more multi-use community asset. We want the community to feel that the field is an integral part of the community...an asset to the quality of life issues here.

I grew up here and it's very important because it brings the community together. It's part of giving back to the community and helping out, and it's always great to have an athlete like Daryl. He's a big name and kids can relate to athletes.

The big unknown here is how many people still feel a part of the community. I suppose one of the things we'll see coming out of the election is that if turnout is low among absentees, it might be that many of these people have no intention of returning.

Yeah, we think we have a chance to do some good things but if you ask 31 other quarterbacks around the league today, I bet they feel the exact same way as I do. They feel like their team will do something special this year. That's part of it. That's part of our game. Pretty much, we're all starting on an even playing field.

I've been part of the Republican Party now, and I've been working with the party and feel that the party is doing the things that are needed for our community, northwest Arkansas, and for Hispanics as well.

The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.
