I told the kids Monday that from now on, every game is bigger than the last. We've got to meet that challenge, and we definitely met it tonight.

Like I told the kids before the game, there are no bad teams left in the country. We are going to have to step up to the next challenge and go there and try to play as well as we did tonight.

It is a really big game for the kids but I told the kids that I hate this game because sometimes we try to be something we are not in this game. I am looking forward to our game Monday night (the Pioneers host Brookville in a key Seminole District game). That is the big one. That's the one where everything is on the line for us.

I'm happy for the guys. They've put a lot of time in. It's been a lot of hard work these past four years. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. This is what it's all about. I told the guys a couple days ago we want to be able to practice on Monday. In order to do that, you got to win the game on Saturday. We won the game tonight, and we're practicing on Monday.

The last thing I told them (Monday) at practice was to come out strong in the second game. We have a really bad habit of letting other teams dominate us for the first 10-12 points at the start of the second game … Tonight, they met the goal.

After the game I told the kids to laugh it up, but Monday a whole new season starts with a lot of expectations.

I always, always hated it, ... but I was always the only kid on the team who could do it. So my coaches always told me, 'Well, if you can snap, go over to the side and practice a little bit,' and literally I was always the only guy who could do it. So I did it in pee wee, midget, junior high school, high school, college. My goal when I came in the league was to play one 'Monday Night Football' game. Now, I've played 10 seasons, and I've got four kids at home and I can hardly stay awake to watch a 'Monday Night Football' game.

We tapered a little bit going into the meet. To me there's too much emphasis placed on this meet. It goes back to when (the CCL) wasn't in the IHSA and this was all we had. I told the kids this is No. 2 for us. The big meet for us is the sectional (Oct. 29).

Bowl good tonight and that's what he always told me on Monday mornings when I left cause I bowl Monday nights.

(After the Villanova loss) I was really disappointed for our kids, not in our kids. Tonight that feeling's a little different. As the leader of this group, it's ultimately my responsibility to put this team in position to be successful, and that obviously was not the case tonight. We're going to meet another mom from Pier for lunch on Monday, and on Wednesday we're going to meet my cousin and her five kids for lunch and maybe go to the park.
