It's just a matter of getting back, getting some ground balls, getting comfortable and just learning first base. It's not as easy as it looks.

Almost everything has gone a couple levels up, in every aspect of the game. The speed of the fastball, breaking balls, the balls that are hit at you at third base. But I'm learning a lot of things. The sky is the limit from here.

We hit too many balls in the air. Easter does a good job of having guys hit a lot of fly balls. Fly-ball outs are easy to defend. We made it easy for them. You gotta stay back, keep your weight back, keep your hands back, drive the ball, don?t drop the bat head.

It's difficult to teach fielding ground balls or fly balls for that matter in a gymnasium. But everyone else up here has had the same problem.

Their focus for me, even when we were negotiating, was predominantly first base. Learning first base, at least it's the infield. The outfield is totally different than the infield. I knew [first base] would take a lot of work and not be easy. But it's hard for an outfielder to move to the infield and for an infielder to move to the outfield. Everything is different. It's not as easy as it sounds.

Once we get into full camp, his primary focus is going to be on first base. We even had him stay out there [Saturday] and take some ground balls. It doesn't mean he won't catch the occasional bullpen, but he's going to focus on first base.

He's just comfortable with everything. Last year was still a learning process. You saw he had all the ability in the world, much like Andy. At the same time, it's a process. It's just a matter of getting comfortable with it. Now he knows the offense as well as anybody.
