I wish Willie [Bloomquist] was here with us so we could have all three of them working out together. Right now, it's just Yuni and Jose taking ground balls and making throws to each other at the base.

Justin does exactly what you ask him to do. He throws strikes, he keeps people off balance and gets you ground balls.

He throws four pitches for strikes, he keeps the ball down, gets a lot of ground balls and he's a strikeout pitcher. He's got a lot of innings pitched in the minor leagues and ... he has developed the consistency that's needed to pitch at this level. We feel it's important he get his feet on the ground up here (in St. Louis) for the time in the future when he's a starter.

It's just a matter of getting back, getting some ground balls, getting comfortable and just learning first base. It's not as easy as it looks.

Willie's an exciting player and a good base stealer who has the ability to make things happen. We're trying to get our offense going, and I thought it was worth a shot. This has everything to do with Willie and nothing to do with Lopez.
