He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. He makes a lot of kids better because he does so much out there. He is like another coach out there on the court.

Coach is very intense and he wants us to do our best off the court and on the court. He expects so much out of us and I feel that is good for us because it only makes us better. It helps us to be successful in life when we are done playing basketball.

I really like Andy Kennedy. He's a great guy, but he's going to have the tag of 'interim coach,' which makes it virtually impossible to recruit. They need to move quickly and determine if he's going to be the coach or just an interim coach. You can't do recruiting on a permanent basis, because kids aren't going to make a commitment if they don't know who they are going to play for.

In an era where it's all about the coach, Bob makes it all about the kids. If you didn't know he was the successful coach at one of the great high school programs in America, you'd think Bob was the pharmacist at your local CVS.

Coach asked me if I wanted to go put my jersey on the court and then come right out. I said, 'Nah.' I don't want my kids to look back and say, 'My father went on the court just to keep up the streak.' I value the fact that I did play that many games in a row, but I think it's more important now to start a new streak.

It really is a tough place to win. It's a small court. Their fans are pretty hostile for being such a small court. We told the kids they were going to make a run at us. That's a good team. (Lower Lake head coach) Marty (Udy) does a good job.

I remember before I left we had the program really rocking. It was loud when there was a lot of kids in the building. When you've got kids in there it makes it extra loud. Even if it's not filled to capacity, it feels like it because they're just so excited to be there. So, I thought what better way to try to help Coach Patton and the program out than to have lots of kids in the building?

It makes a big impression. Him doing that gives kids the idea that he knows what he's doing and is going to be a hard-core coach.

Give Coach Jensen a lot of credit, his kids were ready to play. They spread the floor, and just beat us up and down the court.

Brock does so many things well on and off the court. In practices he teaches, he communicates and he inspires the other kids. He's going to be a great coach someday.

Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.

He sets standards for you, not to let you give up on yourself. He makes you stronger mentally, to be able to go through any situation once you leave Connecticut, in the real world or on the court. He gives you the a mindset just to say, '(The hell with) 'em, I'm going to do what I do.' That's coach.

These seniors...they're great kids. I hope they don't give up on their coach...It's been a joy to coach them. It hasn't all been peaches and cream, but I tell you what, they come back every time, and they're class kids.
