With only two games before the Olympic break, we want to get all the points we can get. The key for me is to refocus every game and not relax or back off what is making me so successful.

When you have a game like that in the first part of the game, I can relax a little bit, but not let the players relax. Latrobe can shoot the ball from the perimeter and, I know it was 20-some points, but four straight possessions they hit a three and we throw it away and they're right back in the game.

We're getting points. Everybody thought a while back, that if we could climb back into it by the Olympic break, then we'd give ourselves a chance when we get back. The playoffs are a sprint, and we've definitely set ourselves up for that.

Before the Olympic break he was struggling a little bit, as was the team. I think the break rejuvenated him. Knowing that Dom was injured and he was going to get some playing time helped him relax.

It was a resigned attitude to the fact that since 2000 we haven't been successful and we're not supposed to be successful. It was kind of like they would go into a game and know we were going to lose. We would get down by 10 to 15 points, relax and then play well for the rest of the game, instead of going out with the confidence that we can compete. There was, I thought, a real confidence about us. Then we take the break and we come back and it's 14-4 against in two games on home ice against teams that are chasing us. So that's the concern: that it is a fragile situation, and the only way to get through it is to be mentally tough about it. We have to stick together as a team.

Brand new ice contributed to that. It usually takes a week or two to kind of get back in game shape and the puck's not bouncing around and stuff.
