en It was a resigned attitude to the fact that since 2000 we haven't been successful and we're not supposed to be successful. It was kind of like they would go into a game and know we were going to lose. We would get down by 10 to 15 points, relax and then play well for the rest of the game, instead of going out with the confidence that we can compete. That (attitude) was the first thing we had to attempt to overcome.

en We've got to stay very focused and be aware that we are beatable and could always lose our next game. We have that attitude every week and if we keep that up we should be very successful.

en With the attitude he seems to have he'll overcome this. He'll go on, he'll be fine and very successful.

en But the game is in Edmonton and Saskatchewan hasn't been successful there. They haven't won a [regular-season] game at Commonwealth Stadium since 2000.

en [Despite opening the season 1-2, Coach Roberts likes his team's outlook the rest of the way,] I think we're on track to be successful this year, but we haven't proven that play in and play out like we need to, ... We've shown signs of being very productive in every phase of the game, but we haven't been consistent enough at it.

en We haven't been successful enough when we have game-changing at-bats. We haven't been successful in getting the hit that puts you back in the game [and/or] the hit that puts you out in front and ends up making the difference in the game.

en [Winning the Cincinnati series] is important. I am not going to say it is not important. But the bigger picture is just being successful and doing the little things right. Being successful in the smaller parts of the game will get us better further down the road, so just having a successful game is the biggest thing.

en There's no doubt in my mind we are going to play a better game. I think the players have some pride. They want to bounce back. It's all about attitude and what kind of attitude the players display. I'm confident they have what it takes.

en We have sent a message to those guys. You are going to see them come in with an attitude in Game 4. They probably felt like they were going to sweep us and get some rest for the second round. Now they know we have confidence. They know we think we can beat them. They are going to come after us and try to put us away. But we've got a lot of confidence now. That won't be easy.

en It's great to see Jennie have a game like this. We had confidence in her taking those shots. When your teammates are successful, the team is going to be successful. We like to have different players step up. So far, it seems like it's been a different player every game.

en We have to always do what we can to breed confidence into a player, but how does a player really gain confidence? It's being successful. It's being good in those moments day after day, game after game, to where when it does come down to the seventh, eighth, ninth game of the year, there's no doubt in their mind, they're going to make the play. It comes down to confidence.

en With only two games before the Olympic break, we want to get all the points we can get. The key for me is to refocus every game and not relax or back off what is making me so successful.

en The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.

en I think he's in the development stages of his career right now, but I think he's got the athletic tools that you need to be successful and he's got the mentality and attitude that you need to be successful.
